I often try to allow myself an open mind to new ideas/thoughts, etc. However, when it comes to this Scientology crap my mind is locked!

I feel saddened and angry for so many of these people who follow such a foolish cult. And this is my opinion and Im sticking to it! :D

i don't know about you guys and i'm not sure about my son, but I don't remember what happened in the delivery room when i was born!

Scientology couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston are urging Katie Holmes to have a 'silent birth' when she delivers fiance Tom Cruise's baby next year (06) and follow the church's strict doctrines.

Scientologists believe children should be brought into the world without any fuss and be allowed to quietly get used to their surroundings. That means no music, no chatting and no expressions of pain from the mother.

That is so wierd. I think that the whole silent birth thing is soo f****. IMO it is surpressing womans feelings and emotions while berthing a miracle. I don't believe that the child's life will be any different if his or her mother makes noise or if there is music, or whatever the case may be. And all of that other stuff about cutting off family members. To me it seems more controlling and about having power over others. I hope I didn't offend anyone that practices scientology. Just very bizarre to me! And I deff. do not agree with silent birth. What a bunch of crap!

My Yorkies can give birth and not make a sound! They may pant a bit..but I have had many barely react..I never have figured it out..the vet says fear is the worst stimulator of pain..a seasoned girl knows what is happening and relaxes.
I believe in silent birth for women also...in fact when I had my babies in the dark ages they gave us so many drugs I don't even remember giving birth...they handed me a baby the next morning and said it was mine, both look like me so I guess they were right.

P.S. Actually...I think all animals give birth in silence...its a primordial thing..they don't want enemies to know they are vulnerable...or that they have precious vulnerable babies

LOL!!! :p :p :p When I had my first child, at 16, I didn't get any drugs because I had a quack doctor :mad: It was a HORRIBLE labor and I thought I was literally going to die...with my second child I got the drugs and it was a breeze:)

Francie: I think you are right! When Bitsy had puppies, she was VERY quiet too! I'm so glad I got to see that once in my life :) Must be instinct for animals!!
