Anybody else starting... their New Years Resolution Diet today...and STARVING? :eek:...Let's just say, the withdrawals from SUGAR are not pretty...watch out in the BAN thread...I can't be held responsible for my words...I'm DYING...:( |

Well...I slept in till 11 this morning in order to start out the day with 1/3 of it already gone...less hours to think about no SUGAR...and now, I only have about 1/3 to go...wish me luck!:D |
I don't think I could give up my sweets :) But I have stayed with my New Years diet for 3 years now. (I lost 80 pounds- and have keept it off) I do like my sweets a few things I did to loose the weight. 1- I cut my meal portions to about half 2- still eat when I want to (just smaller portions) 3- If I have a sweet tooth I will eat dessert first ( then I am not trying to STUFF it in when I am already full 4- I love food and people are suprised at my size now when they see how often I eat. 5- Don't deprive yourself 6- The hardest part for me was changing to diet pop. o that was horible but now I don't even like regular pop (it taste like syrup-yuck) GOOD LUCK to evverybody with all the resolutions:D |
Yes, it is my resolution but I have delayed it until Wednesday. I want to be prepared with the right foods and most of all - the right frame of mind. With a few days left to finish my Masters Stats final ---- I elected to get that done first. I know, I know - probably an excuse but seems reasonable to me - so it is my story ;) Good luck everyone and I will be joining the ranks soon. Wish I only had 10 pds to loose tho :( This year has been a killer! |
I'm actually planning on starting on Monday. The way I see it, this is still "party weekend" and I would really like to be realistic and know that I am not yet strong-willed enough to deny some yummy party food. :p So I'll be starting on Monday and I will really be in the right frame of mind! :) |

I started my diet 3 weeks ago. I wanted to get an early start and stay away from all the holiday treats. :p I hate diet soda :( but I really need to drink diet not real soda. So far I lost 8 pounds:rolleyes: Good luck to all! |

I started my diet today...I have 10 pounds to lose and they will drop quickly but...why am I having a hard time giving up my ice cream?? Geez...giving up cigarrettes wasn't this hard! |
I have been on Weight Watchers for a little while but still have 10-15 more to lose. I haven't given up anything...just have learned moderation (which is great for me) ;) |
I'm starting the atkins diet, and only the first week is rough. After that it's so easy because you don't have to starve yourself... eat as much as you want as long as you don't take in more than 20 carbs a day! Oh, and if you are craving sugar, they make tons of atkins goodies that you can eat, like peanut butter cups and chocoalte coconut bars! |

Starting mine on Monday when I go back to work, being on a daily schedule helps stay more in control, my problems come on the weekend!! I have 25lbs to lose and I know it will not come off as fast it came on it!!LOL!! |

Oh no. The diet chats are starting. I'm going to enjoy the rest of christmas vacation and then plan to start Monday. After all this binging, Monday is going to be really tough :( Now I'll have to lose not only the weight I initially wanted but all those lbs I just packed on from all the baking and good (bad for you) food I've been making the last two weeks :) Good luck to all! |
Count me in too.... I need to lose 10-15 pounds but really need to firm up... My brother is getting married soon and so is my husbands brother! I need to look good :-) My downfall is junk food and ice cream ... I have really taken a liking to smoothies. I just need to go buy the stuff to make them. I will have one for breakfast and one for lunch and eat small snacks and a healthy dinner. But I need to walk/run... but here in NY it is so darn cold! |

Oh man. Monday is here. This means I'm joining you all and starting me diet too. I need to lose like 20lbs. I'm going to try and limit my sugar and limit my portions......and somehow get myself to exercise :-( This seemed so much easier to do 10 years ago :) |

I started a diet LAST year and lost 45 pounds! Cut out sugar, switched to diet pop, low calorie, and low fat. After the first 30 pounds I started exercising. Rode a bike for 10 miles a day. Pleased that I have kept it off -even through the holidays-since I haven't rode the bike since fall! Can't wait for spring! |

So I started today. it really wasn't that bad. I'm not feeling a withdrawl from anything. Unfortunately my dad (in all of his wisdom) brought home pudding and those little bread stick/cheese packets last night. my two weaknesses! I've decided that I can have the pudding but only twice a week. I'm just going to ignore the cheese/stick things. :p Other than that, not too much of a problem here. I drink diet soda (regular soda tastes like battery acid to me), but I mostly just drink water anyway. My problem is breakfast foods and dinner. Right now my schedule is a little bit crazy because I have play practice every night from now-March, and work and school on top of that. So I'm kind of eating crappy dinner. but I think I can mostly balance that out with all the dancing I'm doing. and I don't eat breakfast. It's a bother to me. I know they say that it's harder to lose weight if you don't eat breakfast, so I'm going to try doing that. The biggest problem that I deal with is portion sizes and my laziness. I really just need to eat less and get off my butt and I'll be good to go! :p One day at a time! |
I need to. I also need to start eating my 5-6 small meals a day. I realized when I attempted it before that I don't really eat alot. And I think the reason behind my weight is because my body is in starvation mode. I really need to use my gym membership, but I don't want to flood the gym with the masses. |
