What is the funniest thing that's ever happened to you and your Mom? I was thinking about my Mom last night and something really funny crossed my mind about what happen to us one time when we were together. Thought this would be great for everyone to think about the funniest thing that happen with their Mothers. My brother took us all on a cruise about 20 years ago to the Caribbean and I will never forget it.. Joe decided to drop Mom and I off on the beach, while he and his wife went shopping. Mom and I laid out our towels and were enjoying our time, until my Mother looked around. BIG Mistake... Huge Mistake... We were on a nude beach :sidesplt:and we were the only one's wearing bathing suits and my brother was nowhere to be found. My mother said, are we suppose to take off our clothes... I never laughed so hard and when I think back... I still laugh. Your turn .. |
My mom came to visit me from florida, she was telling me how she bought all new make up recently like a month before she came up to Ma. Well anyways, we decided to go shopping and then out to lunch, I hadnt really looked directly in her face until we sat down in the restraunt for lunch. You know how restraunts have that floresant lighting. Well I looked at her and I saw PURPLE dark PURPLE in her eyebrows.. I was like Umm mom your eyebrows are purple eggplant purple, she said NO there not this is my new make up I have been wearing it a month, I said well you have been walking around for a month with purple eyebrows and no one told you. Low and behold she pulled out her eyebrow pencil and it was called eggplant purple.. She laughed and said , oh well the rest of my friends are as blind as me.. she said it looked pretty good in the mirror.. I told her to buy new glasses but we were really laughing because it was soooooo purple and she had been wearing it for a MONTH!!:eek: |
I remember when I was 16.. we lived in Utah.. We had horse property and my Dad had gone with friends and caught a wild baby horse that had lost it's mother at 2 days old. My Dad brought the colt home. It had a sore leg and my Dad planned to take it to the vet and nurse him back to health. After he got home with the colt, my Dad (who was in the US Navy at the time) got called out of town the next day so he asked my mom to take the colt in the horse trailer to the vet for him. The next day my mom went to put the colt in the trailer for the trip to the vet and found that the horse trailer had a flat tire. So she called the next door neighbor over and they decided to put the colt in the back seat of my neighbors convertible and drive it to the vet. OMG.. I was praying as they drove out of our driveway with my mom sitting in the back seat holding onto this colt in the convertibel.. I was not praying for the colt.. I was praying that no one saw her and no one recognized her as my mom.... lol.. BTW.. the colt was with us for over 10 years... |
I think this thread is great :-) My mom and I have so many awesome times, but I can't pinpoint a "funniest moment". She and I are both goofy and we never know what crazy thing one of us going to do next. Usually we're laughing at each other :D |
Thanks for the laugh today!!!...... |
My mother was a very plain person in every way and avoided social situations at all costs. If she HAD to go to a wedding or something she would stress for months in advance thinking of all the things she could do wrong. When I got engaged to be married my future in-laws invited my parents to dinner. My mother did NOT want to go in the worst way. She was sick with worry that she would do something stupid. To top it off, my future DH was a preppie boy and his parents had their noses in the air a little bit. Future MIL made a beautiful dinner - everything was perfect - but my mother almost died when she noticed two forks and two spoons and wine glass next to water glass. I could see she was in a panic, but there was nothing I could do at that point to help her. Anyway, food was passed and when my mother was handed the platter with the carved roast on it she helped herself to some meat and then started to eat, unaware, with the two pronged meat fork. Next thing you know I heard future FIL say "Edna, where is the meat fork?" to future MIL. My mother looked up at me in alarm and I just looked down at her hand with the meat fork in it that she was eating from...well, all the stress just came out and the two of us laughed hysterically. It was very rude, but we couldn't control ourselves. My poor mom. She never ate at anyone's home again! |
