Holiday Angel, "paying it forward With so many people having such a hard time this year. I thought it would be nice for all of us to help someone out. it doesn't have to be some thing big, the little things count more then one thinks. My daughter called tonight shes donating 10 things to Children's Hospital Ronald McDonald. and my other daughter is buying some kids that will need help this year each a small gift this year.and I was reading on another site some one bought 35 live Christmas trees to resale. none sold so they decided to take them all to their local church so they could hand them out to families who wouldn't have a tree this year. . There's always someone worse off than ourselves and it does make us feel so good to give - even if it's just a couple of dollars. so being the Holiday seasons lets all try to help some one . even if its to carry some ones bags to their car, holding a door open for someone.putting a smile on someones face. and report back to this thread so we can all see what a difference we all made. be some one's Holiday Angel, "paying it forward" do one little deed today to help someone- a loved one, a neighbor, a co-worker, or a complete stranger. Try to make a habit out of it- just one tiny gesture each day. If everyone did this, imagine the effect on the entire world. It's amazing to think about the possible results. a little thing I did I heard about a person stove catching fire . I couldn't afford to buy them a stove but I did give them my electric skillet . they was very happy to have it. My DH got a new TV and we gave our older one to a man who didnt have any. |
We have a guy I use to work with that was a tunnel rat in VietNam and has a black belt. While delivering pkgs for Fedex he would run into some really needy people with children that had nothing. This guy would find out their ages and on Christmas Eve he would go the the home and leave all the Gifts outside their door. And I mean he spent $1000s of dollars. Strong man that had to kill for our country then would turn into a big teddy bear with a heart of gold. We found this out after he left Fedex. He was their secret Santa. He did this for many years. |
You are so right YS! If we all just donate whatever we can to ones in need, people or animals, it would definitely make this world a better place. |
Giving makes you feel so good. Thank you for reminding us to be loving and caring. Let's keep it going all year long! |
Thank you for the reminder. If we ALL do one small act of random kindness who knows where it will lead. I used to make it a point to do something nice to a complete stranger in Wal-Mart -- open a door, compliment someone on a nice color or hair style..... I even once told a complete stranger guy that he had the most georgeous legs I had ever seen on a man. He was in "knee pants" and his legs were WOWSIE!!!!! I got away from doing it, but I will start again this afternoon. |
I think this time of year does brings out the good in most people. Your absolutely right, thanks for reminding us. I too, will keep a watchfull eye out to help in any way I can. Makes you feel all fuzzy inside when you do. Merry Christmas, |
Yesterday I donated a dollar to the salvation army. Today I bought a coat for a girl on the angel tree. I like to give things away to people who need them. |
Great idea. I am fostering a pom puppy and will be paying for her spay as the shelter can't afford to and the only way they could take these puppymill auction dogs in were if the fosters assumed financial responsibility. I brought groceries to an elderly lady I befriended in my dad's senior apartment. How nice would it be if everyone did one little thing for someone!! |
