Having fun with my sister's school asignment! 1 Attachment(s) When I was younger and in school I got SO excited when the high schoolers got on our bus with their little plastic babies to take care of a few days, however I never got to take that class :l My little sister is in it now though and she got hers today and is letting me take care of it (of course for her benefit knowing I'll give her a great grade)! I LOVE it, its so much fun =P Did any of you all enjoy this project when you all were in school? |
They never had this when I was in school, I learned the real way. LOL |
Oh yah I took that class in high school. However we didnt even get plastic babies...we got an EGG :rolleyes: The egg had to come back uncracked and you had to keep a journal about it. I guess the egg had a watermark on it somewhere so you couldnt try switching it if you cracked it LoL |
My daughter came home with hers last week. It was kind of fun, but it taught her a big lesson. She couldn't even eat her dinner without this baby crying. I let her do it all by herself. Except when she went into the shower I babysat it. Otherwise she had a ball with it. The ones they have today are so sensitive. You have to support the head and everything. She also had to figure out why it was crying. Either burp it, change it's diaper or feed it. She did the egg thing the week before. She cracked hers in a day. She made another one. It had hair and eyes and a diaper. It was so cute. I just wish there were more boys who took this class so they can know what it's like also. |
Haha yes I took this class in I think 11th grade. The week before we took the baby home we had to wear the pregnancy belly for a couple days. It was fun. I enjoyed it. I'm 24 now and no kids yet! |
hahaha yeah they are very sensitive now! The head can't fall back at ALL at my sister's school they make all the students do it, including the boys. So thats really good because boys need to learn about it too! My mom had an egg when she was in school also, she cracked hers right away and sneaked in her teachers classroom and stole a new one lol! |
Showing my age here, but I had the egg as well. Mine made it back in one piece and not cracked. |

That would be so boring! I would at least have to draw a face and clothes on mine lol! My sisters real care baby came with clothes and pajamas and even a blanket |
I actually donated a whole bunch of baby clothes, boys and girls, that I had from when my kids were small. Most of them still had tags on them. In my daughters school you have to take the "child studies" class in order to bring the baby home. 99% of the kids, that take that class are girls. She actully got a 96 on the baby assignment. She did great but it was alot of work for her. Th 4 pionts came off because she "missed burp" ---I think that was when I was babysitting. I think they should at least have to bring the baby home for the weekend. I mean she got the baby after 8th period and brought it back in before 1st period the next day. I picked her up from school on the day she brought the baby home. I have to tell you, it was a little scary to see her carrying a baby carrier out of the school. |

hahaha I'm sure it was! Yeah my sister has hers the entire weekend, of course shes just perfectly fine with it, I just take the baby and swipe it under my sisters wrist like at a wal mart check out and then I do everything else >=P she will definitely get a good grade |

I wiiiish we had the "real" baby!! I don't think my high school even does the egg babies! In 8th grade I had an Egg baby. I had a BALL with her. I named her Erin. I went to the dollar store and bought her a little pink basket to carry her around in, I cut off some barbie hair and glued it to her, and I took a little barbie dress and put it on her. :p I was honestly quite sad at the end of the week when we had to give them up! |

Aww thats exactly what I would do! I know! I'm sad to be giving him back tomorow lol!! Its ridiculous |
