Yesterday I took myself out for a nice lunch. I let myself have a treat, a coke with my meal. The manager of the place asked me if I knew that the federal government was about to impose a "sin" tax on cola, much like the one on cigarettes and alcohol..... I was appalled. I did a little digging and it is bigger than they, they also plan to hit juice drinks and my beloved CHOCOLATE MILK..

This is going too far! Alcohol you do not need...cigs, you do not need NOW they want to 'tell' us what not to eat (by making it more expensive)??????

Its not just pop, juice and chocolate milk they are wanting a tax on anything with sugar in it

I think they just did that in Illinois. I live on Coke, my husband on pepsi and chocolate is my favorite food group. The taxes are killing us not the sugar!!

Horrible, terrible thought just came to me,....since "THEY" SEEM TO be taxing what "they" consider self indulgent luxuries, I hope "they" don't impose a yorkie tax.

I really think these regulations of food for "our own good" are getting out of hand! :(

Yeah, & remember the Woody Allen movie "Sleeper". Do we get our money back if in the future these foods are proven to be healthy? :)

Oh yes! That's a good one too. :) I actually DO think sugar is healthier than artificial sweeteners.
