Going to be a Long Day at Work! I just need to vent... I just sat through a 20 minute conversation about the joy of Puggles. (My coworker behind me has one.) For 20 minutes, I listened through her explanation to another co worker of how “this breed” would be perfect for her. Because they all look like cute puppies forever, and because you can get them any size you want…big or the “laptop” size. (Seriously!) I bit my tongue, and finally just got up and walked off. On my way out, one of them asked “We’re talking about Puggles.” I simply told them that they didn’t want my opinion on the matter, and left it at that, hoping they would take the hint and drop it, or at the very least, not involve me in their conversation. When I walked back from the break room, one of them asked, “What do you think about getting a Puggle?” I rolled my eyes, but they kept on. I finally just said, “Honestly, I would never support someone purposely breeding designer dogs, but that’s just me.” Then my coworker got a bit snippy and said, “Well you know, some people think it’s crazy for people to spend a lot of money on the kinds of dogs you have.” Now at this point, I’m getting really mad—because I have gone out of my way to NOT interject my opinions into their conversation, have walked off and told them very calmly that this was not a subject I took lightly, or that we would agree on, yet they kept on and kept on pushing me for comment and NOW get mad about it!? In any event, I just kept my cool and said, “Oh I’m sure they do…I’m sure most people who don’t bother to look at the big picture would feel that way.” Finally, they let it drop and moved one, but geez…what a way to start out a morning! |
Relax and Release!!! Personally, I feel you handled that situation quite nicely... |

For the record, the entire subject has been dropped and business and communication between she and I have resumed as normal. |
I have a dog dilemma at work today too! These ladies were in the break room at lunch discussing dog food. One ladies dog has been having alot of tummy problems and I tried to explain to her that a premium dog food or maybe homecooking would help. This other idiot told her that she should feed her dog Cesar because it was the best and really good for them! When I told them that Cesar really wasn't a good food at all, the idiot said "Well not everyone is willing to drive over an hour to buy dog food... I mean they are just dogs!" I said "Oh well that must be the problem because my babies don't even know they're dogs!" |
Oh I have gotten into big fights with the designer dog and teacup discussions. It is so hard to keep your lips together when these idiots that don't have a clue about anything bring these topics up... It must have been even harder for you...:D |

Yes, it's is so hard to just sit and have to bite your tongue daily because some people just seem to know everything! My co-worker makes the worst decisions of any other human on the planet and I have to listen to them on a daily basis. We have been friends for years and it's all because I learned to keep my mouth shut because she dosen't listen to me anyhow! Her son, who lives with her, has a Yorkie. The Yorkie has kidney problems, why, because it has been feed table food from day one! I tried to explain this years ago but her son, who listens to some radio person who sells vitimins as well as dog food and knows about everything on this earth only listens to him! The dog has four teeth, he's 9 now but has been given meatballs with garlic over years, grapes, of course they peal them for him and so many other bad things it drives me insane! I just shut it off, I have to because I'll go mad if I don't. He sleeps on the floor at night with the Yorkie so he won't fall off the bed but they feed him meatballs with garlic and grapes! This is the crap I listen too so I know exactally what your going threw. I can't wait to retire and get away from these useless, insane stories. Wow, now I feel better getting that out. Thanks, |
