Northern Exposure Which character from NE is Alaskayorkie/Eddies father? |
The doctor ? My husband used to watch that show ....I can hardly remember it. |

We have an actor in our midst??? I loved that show! I just saw a show about celebrity babies that included Rob Morrow. Guess what he named his daughter? TU as in Tu Morrow. That gave me a giggle :) |

I'd say Alaskayorkie is the guy that owned the bar/restaurant. I think his name was Hollis... That was a great show! |

Wasn't the kid Ed? I think we need reruns... |

First of all, Chewysmom, no, we don't have an actor in our midst. I'm just a guy who likes Yorkies. Sylvan is spreading rumors (of course, that's why I like her!). I can't remember all the characters. The doctor was too Type A for me. I liked the DJ, but he was probably too cool to be me. I would have hung out with him though. If Hollis was the oldtimer who hooked up with the young, blonde babe, I'm down with that. JUST KIDDING, SWEETIE! (You never know when she's gonna check up on me!) |

Hollis was the best!! He was just humble enough to be adorable, had a kind and generous heart and was the voice of reason in most situations. The blonde babe was his icing on the cake! And I'm guessing your 'sweetie' is that babe, Alaskayorkie!!! |

I personally think you are way cool enough to be Chris in the morning....I always wondered whether it was way off base to the REAL Alaska, but assumed that some of it had to be sorta pertinent. I live in a small village in PA and we have our share of interesting characters, just not quite as extreme....though I wouldn't put it past them to catapult a piano just for kicks. no mooses wandering the road, but we do get the occasional cow or deer. |

So funny! Alaskans used to get so upset about that show since it was filmed in Washington state! I remember all of that ;) I agree though, it was very similar to the smaller villages in AK (which I visited quite a bit)! Hey, how is the weather in Anchorage? I need you fellow Alaskan to keep me updated ;) |
Miss Megan, shouldn't you be in school???? If you are playing hooky I am telling your mom. |

There you go again, Megan, keeping SECRETS! And on a thread that's supposed to be TEASING ME! Quit highjacking my thread! It's mine. |

2 Attachment(s) Sylvan, how could I not like you with all the nice things you have to say? You sound like a riot, too. Simonandhallie, the leaves are gold and the air has a bite to it. The sky is pale blue and clear, and you can see Denali from Anchorage 250 miles away. It's been raining a lot but snow isn't far away, and that means cross-country skiers, sled dogs and mushers on the trails and that eerie silence you only get walking through a snow-covered forest. Does that make you miss Alaska? I posted a couple pictures from a prince william sound glacier cruise just for you on that jungle yorkie thread, but I think you missed it. It's Post #14. I'm the one in the elmer fudd hat. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18497 Here's a couple moose pictures to prove northern exposure had something accurate about Alaska. The one lying down is just down the street, and the other is in our front yard. Not bad for a city of 300,000, huh? Almost forgot. And Megan:  |
stop trying to get her to move back to alaska!!! :p it sounds very pretty, though. hmm i should go visit someday. |

I LOVE the shot of the moose just laying there all cosy waiting for his decorative lights. Your Elmer Fudd hat is just dashing, you leave Hollis in the dust. Mrs. Eddie's mom is just lovely. Thanks for sharing the description of the day, it was as good as a picture. Megan called me a creep for MOMing her. lol |
haha LOVE the moose! They would always end up in the oddest places (i.e eating out of the back of my truck) or I'd walk out of my apartment complex and there would be a moose just laying in the snow right by the door!!! |
Northern Exposure was one of the greatest. Rated right up there with MASH. And Stacy, I adored Marilyn and her ESP or whatever that sense was. I use a line of hers all the time..Remember when she went to Seattle for vacation? Doc was worried so he went down looking for her and found her just sitting on a bench. He was so concerned but she told him she was "having an adventure!" I use that all the time especially if others are upset about plane departures, or check-in at hotels or IF EVER I AM WRONG I coyly smile and say "that's okay. I am having an adventure!" They don't know what the he!! I am talking about. |
Rini, I just KNEW you'd be a fan...Marilyn was so unflappable and succinct. She was my hero. Every day is just an adventure. |
OMG- yorkie lovers and NE lovers, this site is too cool, the best. I just went to the town where NE was filmed in October. My mind has gone blank right now but it is on the other side of the mountains from Seattle, ah yes, it is Rosyln. We were on our way to Leavenworth,Wa. Leavenworth is a town that is made to look like a Swiss or Germany village. It snowed in the passes and we had to go back to Seattle the long way around. It was beautiful. We want to retire in Seatlle area. You know they use to have a Moosefest in Roslyn every July, I don't know if they still do. I had all the episodes taped on vhs but now I have all available dvd's. My fav character-Maggie. I want to be just like her. |
