sooo i work at the local vet
im usually not so moody i have seen some bad things including a huge dog that died and bled out from asnake bit i had to clean it all up a pit that was skin a bones very nice doing the death howl the day before he did die another dog that was basically torn in half from a dog attack and had to be stitched back together with stainless steal ..anyway today a woman brought in her cat a long har calico because it stinks like it has some kind of infcetion. she had it in a carrier that was dirty even asked for some air freshner for her car because it stunk up the back seat of her car!

i took it to the room opened the carrier but as soon as you get in the room you can smell puss something rotting the cats nice friendly as can be but constantly meowing rubbing but salivating all over her front feet im petting her looking for the smell where is it coming from very strong?!!! notice the cat has on a collar its way to tigh it needs to come off now! i start to look under her neck to see if its dug into her neck the damn collar is in the cats mouth along the inside of her bottom jaw embedded inside her bottom lip she cannot close her mouth thats the smell its not embedded in her neck its embedded in her jaw infected she cant close her mouth or eat and rotten out some teeth!! what the!! i start hollering cut it off get it out!! the dr sees it im freaking out he had to take pics 1st i usually dont get upset so easy this bothered me!! the cat wasnt mean at all she had to be in pain we got it out cleaned it antibiotics pain meds woman said she thought she took it off the cat she should be arrested! :mad:

People like that should not have any pets. I would love to have those people who do stuff to animals have it done to them! Did she get the cat back?

OMG that is absolutely HORRIBLE. that poor cat. :( Did you guys give the cat back to her? I would want call the SPCA ASAP!

Please don't tell me yo gave her the poor angel back to that demon!!! If the doctor took pics you can call the spca and i'm sure they can file chardges for animal cruelty.
Some people just make me so freaking angry!!!:mad: She shouldn't be allowed to have pets!!!

this is just so sad, poor thing, my good, poor animals, they deserve so much better...what else can i say???:(

That is so horrible, I hate thinking there are people who don't know how to care for an animal, let alone their own children! She should be gagged with a collar too. Did you give her the cat back?

OMG!! How horrible, I would have freaked too! Please tell me the Dr did NOT give that poor cat back to the owner!

I spoke with someone just the other day who is involved in animal rescue in our area and she made a comment that is, sadly, very true. Her comment was this "The deeper one gets into the "Bible Belt", where one is always asked about God, invited to church, asked if they've been saved, etc, etc,, it appears the more animal cruelty there is!" Unfortunately, I must agree. I have lived in the northern and western parts of the US and yes, I've seen animal cruelty. But, since moving "down south" I've seen more than I have ever seen in one area! These people don't have hearts! (no offense to those southern folk who love and properly care for thier animals).

usually a vet will not report cruelty. I don't know if it's a confidentiality issue or just not wanting to lose clients. But I think there should be a law making them report it like doctors have to report suspected child abuse and neglect!!

we dont have spca or anything like that here the only things thats really done around here is when a county deputy gets called out for horses and they have to be near dead to be taken away ive been out to one of those also!!
