I hadn't taken or posted recent pictures of Fern, my parrotlet so I took some today! Out of 85 or so pictures, I got a few good ones. :p

Aww, Fern is very pretty. Is she a pacific parrotlet? She looks alot like mine that are, I have 2 males and 2 females. One pair are laying eggs so more coming it looks like:D
Your new dove is also very pretty. My sister has doves and I love the cooing sounds they make. :)

Oh Kyle I love Fern she is so pretty..I love her green color.

Your new birdie is super cute too. I love birds but boy are they a lot of work..lol.

I was going to get a second one but was afraid Fern wouldn't get along with her. I'd love a yellow one.

They are a lot of work. Super messy too! Fern creates more of a mess than the 3 dogs. :p

That's funny. Sometimes Fern does that too. She despises plastic bags and goes crazy when you have one.

Thank you! The dogs used to show a little interest in Fern but they've gotten used to her. I don't leave them alone each other or anything though.

Mine are also green. The breeder I got my original pair from had a clutch with blue, yellow and white. They were so pretty!!
You are right about not getting a second one, parrotlets do not get along very well with others. You can't keep two of the same sex caged together and if you put them with the opposite sex they bond to each other.
I have my original breeding pair together in a cage and below them I have a male and female that I kept from one of their clutches.
Here's a picture of the babies they had a couple yrs. ago. All males as you can see:)

They're both adorable!!! i agree they are a lot of work...moby my bird makes a big mess already..and poops like every couple minutes lol

Oh Kyle..they're so cute. I used to have a bird and want another one...not sure which kind yet...was thinking a Gray macaw but not ready for all the work. :D but seeing your Fern has me wanting one like now!!!:p

Off Topic, but.... has anyone heard of or watched the documentary on the Parrots of Telegraph Hill in San Francsico? It was fascinating!

That documentary looks very interesting. I watched the trailer and it kind of reminded me of Assateague Island ponies (and not knowing exactly where they came from either and all the theories).

That movie was fantastic. I love birds also. Right now I have one cockatiel, Buddy, who talks up a storm and imitates all the household sounds. He even says here, Joey, here Joey, when we come in from a walk. So smart. The parrotlets are stunning birds, I had never seen them up close before.
