Can you believe!!??????????????? I'm going to be 38 years old!!!!!!!!! How did this happen?? I'm shocked, just did the home pregnancy test...positive. Went back to the store and got two more tests because I just couldn't believe it!!!!!! Took another one and pregnant......I'm so scared!!!!!!!!!!! Autism runs in the family and I'm over 35 years old which only makes problems more likely....

Hi rebecca, congratulations!!!!! my sister is 39 and just have the most perfect pretty girl,she was scare too, my sister lost her twin at really early age and we have a particular healthy history in the family, but she did really good (she also have 2 more kids a girl and a boy) and she is in peru! over here you get better care and more help, so dont worry, i will pray for you, just wanted to tell you, the baby is 0ne week now and she is just PERFECT!:)

I'm a true believer that things happen for a reason. Don't think of all the negative things, just start planning on your little gift from God. Big warm hug to you from me.

My mother was pregnant along with me. She was 42, I was 20.....

The one thing that she always said after my baby sister was born and she was raising her is that she kept her young.

I had my youngest son as "an advanced age mother." They actually wrote that in my medical record! I was 38. I had been trying to get pregnant though and was thrilled! Being older has its benefits. I was more settled, more patient, had more money and less stress. Thankfully he turned out perfect and will be starting his senior year in just a few days -- hard to believe! Great student, fantastic athlete and good lookin' too -- not bad for an old gal! :D

You and your baby will be just fine! I too believe things happen for a reason & heck girly, 38 is the new 18... or so.. Congratulations! Once the idea sinks in you will be fine. Take care of yourself and that wee one!

Congrats to you! What a blessing. My grandmother was 37 or 38 when she had my mom and my mom was and still is healthy! Congrats again!

Congratulations!! I'm 38 also, and I can't even imagine what you must be feeling. I think it's wonderful - I mean, you're having a BABY!! :D

I know how you feel but please see this as this as a blessing. God taught me a lesson many years ago when I had an unexpected pregnancy. I was so upset because I did not want another child at the time. I cried like a baby because I still had one in diapers and just couldn't imagine having another one. It was not until I went to the doctor and got some devastating news that made me realize how much I truly wanted this baby and how much love I had for it in such a short time (I was around 4 months pregnant). My whole world turned around when the doctor told me that one of my test come back as the baby having Trisomy 18 which is a chromosomal defect in which the baby usually does not survive. If they do they are severly physically and mentally retarded. I sat in his office in pure shock as he talked to me about aborting my pregnancy if the additional test that he was going to perform came back positive. That was 13 years ago and it brings tears to my eyes as I talk about it now. I ended up going through additional testing that came back normal (thank the lord). I still went through 9 months of wondering if my child was going to be healthy because of that one test. Well....he was born totally healthy and I thank God everyday. I feel like God was trying to teach me a lesson and that he wanted to show me just how fast I could loose everything. I didn't realize how much I truly wanted it until there was a chance that it was going to be gone. I know its a long story but I just wanted you to turn your situation into something positive. Things could be alot worse. Wish the best for you and your child...sorry for such a long vent session!

I also believed that things happen for a reason. And also think that positivity is the key to an happy life.;)

Congrats! What a blessing! I am sure things will work out for the best. Just to add another story my sister had her last baby (unexpected) when she was 42 and he is a very healthy 14 year old now. Like Mardelin's mother she was pregnant at the same time as her daughter, so his niece is actually a little older than he is!

I had a whole other plan...I know everything happens for a reason it's just such a surprize! I got rid of ALL the baby things for the second time I was so sure...LOL!

Congratulations. I was 35 with my last. Your doctors will run test to make sure everything is ok. Gotta tell ya, I was a much better mother at 35 and yes it does keep you young. A baby is a blessing and I am sending you lots of Hugs and Kisses

Congrats!!! A Baby....... What a wonderful blessing from God! U r truley blessed! Im 34 almost 35 and trying and I had my 2 daughters young and I know god willing I will prob have more patients and enjoy every min now that im older! U will be fine and the baby too! Enjoy every min god has given u!!!:)consider ur self lucky!!! U hit the lottery!
