*Bringing home TWO poodle puppies* - Questions about raising more than one puppy Hello all :wavey: My friend plans to bring home two adorable poodle puppies (Milan and Peyton) on September 1st. (Thanks to everyone who helped with names in my previous post ). We are in the process of getting everything prepared for their arrival...but in the process we ran into a couple of questions. I would love your opinions. :) 1. Should the puppies eat and drink from the same bowls? - My concern is that she will not know how much each one is eating. I think that is especially important to monitor their food intake considering that these little ones will only be six weeks when she picks them up. 2. Should the puppies share a crate? -I would think that it would be stressful to separate the little girls from each other initially. However, on the other hand, I have heard that it is possible for puppies to be more bonded to their littermate than their owner if they are not separated. 3. Should they be trained individually or together? Any opinions you could offer would be greatly appreciated (even if they are not directly related to these questions). Thank you! :) |
How exciting! Im not sure if they should share things or not. But i would have her join this forum. Poodle Forum - Standard Poodle, Toy Poodle, Miniature Poodle Forum ALL Poodle owners too! - Powered by vBulletin We are also getting a poodle, on the 30th. And this forum has been a help...I know about Yorkies, so poodles are still really new to me. The only down side about this forum is that its not as lively there as it is here. |
Thank you so much for the link to the forum! Not many places seem to be as active as YT, but any advice will be a great help. Thanks again. And congrats on your upcoming little poodle baby. :) |

Thank you both for your suggestions. :) I was able to find a forum specific to Toy Poodles (which is the type that my friend is getting) that has been somewhat more active. Here is a link to the site if anyone is interested: Toy Poodle. |
