I won $800,000.00!!!!! I got this email, from the FBI today. I'm a little concerned that the FBI agent has g-mail address, although they use to be called G-men so maybe it's legit! :D Quote:

Seriously, I would contact the FBI. Really Truly. They may already be aware of the scam but maybe not. |
I would also contact the FBI or your local Police Dept and/or local news station. I believe I had read something about a scam that sounded something close to this. You should never have to send money! |
I thought there might be a place online to report this sort of thing. Do your really think I should report it to the FBI? Are they opened weekends? :D |
You wouldn't believe how much of this goes on. I worked at a bank until a couple months ago and people would bring in checks that looked very legit and try to cash them. When they first began bringing them in one of our tellers actually cashed one for $5000! They were supposed to send so much to the people, which they did, then they spent the rest. Well of course the check came back and they were out that money! It was really sad. Everyone be very careful!!!!!@ |
Take the money and run! :D |

I took your advice, and looked up the FBI's internet complaint site. I hope this site is legit because I had to give them a lot of personal information. Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | File a Complaint. They said that they would report the crime to the local police department as well. |
snopes.com is a great place to verify most of the junk we get in email. You can use the search box and type in a few keywords, or whatever. Sometimes there are several posts to choose from. One thing is for sure, no one is going to give you a cent, not Bill Gates, not some person in the UK or other country, no, no no. And Applebees is not gonna give you a free meal either. lol THEY WANT YOU TO SEND THEM $600 SO THEY CAN SEND YOU THE $800,000??? OH GREAT, YOU PAY THEM 600 AND THEY TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN. IT IS JUST ANOTHER SCAM. |

to file a complaint To file a complaint on scam/hoax emails with the FBI go to this website Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home it's what we advise the public when our department gets reports. |
I can't believe these nut's acutally used the FBI as a sorce of being legit! LOL fools! Sorry it wasn't true, think of all the Yorkies you would have given a home too. One day maybe. Seems like these lonnies are coming out of the woodwork trying to get your information to your bank acct. That would have been next so they could do an automatic "withdrawal" and take YOUR money. I got an e-mail at work two weeks ago telling me my $MILLION dollars has been cleared by the board of trustees and is ready to be depostied into my account. Please send them my name, address, tel # and of course my bank account # so they can automatically deposit it right into my account. They will notify me when the deposit is complete. It was signed Mohammed something or other. Do these nut's really think people fall for this crap! I deleted it of course. I couldn't think who to report it too. There was an e-mail address of course but who would you report something like this too? |
I just saw a piece done about these types of email frauds and how that most of this come out of a cyber cafe in Africa. I believe they said you could call the local police and also the post office as they are able to take down complaints. They even said that some really educated people have actually fallen for these emails and have ended up in really big trouble. |
I feel bad for the people who might actually fall for it. :( |
