Paint schemes I know this has been asked a lot and I've been through a lot of the old threads, and I'm still here asking for help  I am moving into a 2 bedroom condo that is 925 square feet. The kitchen is pretty small, and the living room is narrow but deep. I bought a great folding panel to divide the back of the living room into a reading area, with the couch in front of the panel for the tv area. I thought I had all my colors picked out, but the more reading I do, the more I am told "Use light cool colors to make the space seem bigger!" As it was, I was going to use a bold gray color for the majority of the condo... kitchen, hallway, part of the living room. In the "tv" area of the living room, there is a corner fireplace with just a plain wall overtop. I was going to paint that corner wall a deep red, and the back reading area the same deep red. However, now I'm worried the space will look too small! And now I feel maybe I want some color instead of just gray everywhere else! My bathroom I will not budge on :) I bought some chocolate colored furniture (vanity, shelves, medicine cabinet) and I will paint the walls lavender. Does anyone have any advice on colors? Any pictures? Most of my furniture is neutral... browns, tans, etc. My kitchen table is a wooden top on black metal legs. The matching chairs have dark green seats which aren't my favorite but my grandma bought me the set brand new a few years ago so it's staying! I've never been big on cool colors in a home, but I don't want it to seem too small by using warm dark colors. And I definitely don't want white or off-white shades... I am a big fan of color :) |
Stores over here will sell you match pots for about a dollar apiece, you can put 1 square metre patches on the wall , chill out and get a feel for the colour. Why not try that before doing a whole wall. If you are not sure, leave the patches and have a quilt on the wall. |
You could call it " The undecided wall" |
1 Attachment(s) I did a red wall in my office. It's the back wall. The other two walls along side of it is "Toasted Coconut". Its like a tan color, sort of. I think it gave the room a lot of dimension and it looks a lot less like a 'cave' to me now. Also, Ive gotten nothing but complements on it from visitors. The white trim brought it all together perfectly. |
My dear i think you should be select light pink color for it. Ans must visit for taking nice ideas and pictures : popularmechanics dot com. Best of luck. |
