Ryan Widmer How many of you have heard about Ryan Widmer in Cincinnati, his trial is know as the bathtub murder of his wife. He was found guilty by the jury but due to the fact that they did experiments in their homes and shared it with the rest of the jury, and met outside court he may get a new trial. So many people think he didn't do it including his wife's family. I'm not sure what to believe because the media has twisted everything up and it's hard to know what's true and not. I wanted to see how many people have actually heard about this case, I'm wondering if it is getting national news. |
Wow... I haven't heard of it but I haven't watched much tv lately. I will look it up and reading about it. |
Geez I must not have interesting topics, everytime I post a thread I get one or two responses then it's lost in oblivion. I know that happens sometimes but it's about 90% of the time for me. Oh well I guess I better get more interesting lol. |
I had not heard of it before you posted, but I avoid a lot of the news. Sounds like the wife's family has been really supportive of him, even wanting a lower bail. I hope they are right. I can only imagine how horrible they will feel if he winds up being guilty. I know sometimes it seems like our posts are not getting any attention for a while and then all of a sudden they will start clicking and get lots of responses. Mine go back and forth. Sometimes I feel like I am posting to myself and other times many answer. So, keep posting, it will even out over the long run! |
I haven't heard of it at all.. and don't worry, you are not alone.. a lot of my posts go unnoticed.. its funny, sometimes the silliest post will be a 43 page long one... guess it depends on the day. |
haha you aren't alone... Half of my posts are left unnoticed. But then again, I don't carry on real conversations with many people and I mostly just read. I should probably try to be more engaging (I have been trying!). :p |
I don't know what to think. There are so many things that don't add up. I listened to the 911 call and he seemed to give a lot of gratuitous information IMO. He seemed pretty calm for a guy who just found his wife dead in the bathtub. But still, I don't know what his usual demeanor is like. The fact that his wife was warm and dry with damp hair after just having drowned is odd; especially coupled with the fact that there was no water on Ryan, no water on the floor, towels, clothing, etc. all dry. And she was said to have a gelatinous substance around her eyes, maybe vaseline. The fact that she was dry is what prompted some jurors to conduct their own experiments at home to see how fast they dried after a shower or bath. That was a no-no and could result in a new trial. She was, however, known for falling asleep in inappropriate places such as bars and social gatherings and her friend said she had a bad headache that night. A very interesting case. If they have a new trial, I'd like to know the outcome! |
Just sounds odd that she wasn't wet. However, if he was "planning" to kill her and place her in the tub, why wouldn't he add water to cover himself. Innocent people wouldn't think of trying to make it "look" like anything. Was there water in her lungs? I'd hate to be on the Jury! |
I think there is a good chance he is innocent. There was water in her lungs and all the injuries she has can be explained by the different CPR methods they all tried, and they say she could have had a siezure so she could have had injuries from that. I'm not sure about the whole drying thing. the 911 call...I think he sounded upset, he was crying, and the 911 operater wasn't exactly sypathetic at all, and I know when i'm in a stressed situation I babble especially when i'm upset. Maybe it's just me and maybe that's how he is who knows. I just don't see sending a man to prison when they can't prove it. there is a man that is in Prison right now (my husband is a corrections officer) he has been in for 17 years so far on rape charges, there were two witnesses, and just yesterday those two witnesses came to him with a lawyer asking him to sign an affidavid saying he wouldn't sue them when they go to court and tell the judge they lied. So this innocent man has lost 17 years of his life becasue two people decided to lie one day. And he will be there still until at least September until it goes through the courts. He was also clocked into work already when this supposed rape was hapening. You just never know. |
I haven't heard of the case. Wow! |

As far as the story, I'm a news person - meaning I watch and read alot - not that I'm on the news. I haven't heard about this case. Interesting though. |
