advice-this isnt about a yorkie, but another dog I know this guy who lost his dog this morning.. he couldn't find it anywhere.. after hours, the dog finally came home.. he was limping, breathing fast, and had a rapid heartbeat. They thought maybe he was having a heat stroke. They called me and wanted advice from me (I trained to be a vet assistant.. so apparently that means I know everything and everyone is all calling me for advice all the time.. my advice to them is "if you love it, take it to the vet, I can't diagnose.. I don't know everything.. it needs tests") I don't think they are going to take it to the vet cause they owe the vet from a while back... and are stupid.. there are plenty of other vets. I don't live near these people they are a few hours away from me, but I've known them for a while. I was hoping that maybe someone has went through this before, and can provide me with a little insight, so maybe I can provide them with some information on how to give the dog a little bit of advice. |
Is there not another vet they can take the dog too or call the vet and work out a payment plan since it's an emerencey??? No offense I know those are your friends but if they are so concerned about their dog then why are they letting the issue of oweing money stop them?? Anyways I'm no expert but if they think the dog had a heat stroke I would assume they should make sure it gets lots of fluids to rehydrate itself and keep the dog cool and indoors. And watch it very closely to make sure he's breathing returns to normal. Basicly just keep a very close eye on him. |
It's okay.. I said the same thing! If you love the dog take it to the vet. There are other vets around.. they just don't care enough to spend money on it I guess. Thanks for the advice though.. I will tell them. |
I meant to add they should probably give him some Powerade or Gatorade something we would drink to keep us from getting dehydrated. Probably wouldn't hurt to give him a little sugar water or a little bit of kayro syurp just to be on the safe side. I hope he's ok. |
