Here's a letter from my landlord, oops I mean slumlord's property manager, short version:

"I am pleased to inform you that the parking lot will be repaired and resealed this week.......During sealing it is extremely important that no one walks or drives on the newly sealed areas. [The paving company] will be working quickly and diligently to minimize any inconvenience. Thank you in advance.... this is the first phase of a multi-phase plan to improve the center." blah blah blah.

Here's the view from my shop's front door. How the heck are my customers supposed to find parking anywhere! It's all roped off! Like they are really gonna walk across hot asphalt that's not dry in 100 degree heat to come in my shop. And they HAD to do this on the weekend when we are more busy!!!

Not quite sure why resurfacing is done on weekends. Our small town redid the streets downtown right in front of restaurants this weekend. It's a mess! I am so sorry that you are losing business. ~Joanne~

That's so annoying! What a horrible time to basically block your store off from all customers. Sorry you're having a bad time, and hope it gets back to normal soon!

I am sorry. That really stinks. I read earlier that you were having problems getting out of your lease. I really hope that things start to turn around for you.

He is fixing the parking lot to help make it look better and possibly safer.
Instead of getting upset look at like your store will look even better now.:D

Actually, they do this every year b/c the company they hire does shoddy work. They raise our CAM charges to cover the upkeep of the plaza. The slumlord pays for nothing. We pay for the gardeners, the electricians that come out and repair the lightings everything, and we don't know if he is actually charging us the right amount. He just upped our CAM charges again last month. My shop is the smallest one at 700 sq ft and we pay over $400month for those fees. I only imagine what others are paying.
