I could go on and on... But the one that REALLY gets me is when children are out-of-control in stores, restaurants, etc. Let me explain that I do not have children, but I am a kindergarten teacher. If I can keep 16 in line on a field trip, parents can at least get their 2 kids to behave at a restaurant. Right? The other day I was at a Mexican restaurant and had to remove the chip tongs from a child's mouth, when the mother was standing two feet away! Ew. I was also recently in a store and noticed two older children playing tag among the racks of clothes. When I glanced around for the parents, I noticed that they were playing too! C'mon! I swear, it's these people that are making my job more and more difficult each day. Phew. I'm done. |
People who think thier car is SOOOO special that it needs 2 parking spaces. |
People who dont wash their hands when the are leaving the restroom!! |
People who leave their trash on the table in a fast food restaurant. OR Let their kid stand up in the booth and stare at you while you try to eat! OR Get to the cashier and have no idea what they want to order, but it never occurs to them to let someone else go ahead while the "ponder" the mysteries of the Mcvalue menu!!!! |
1. Bad grammar and misspelled words (I'm talking pretty basic stuff) 2. Cliches like "It's a catch-22!" It's even worse when they say something like that and it makes no sense in the context in which it's placed. 3. Prepositions at the end of sentences. This isn't technically bad grammar, and I'm definitely not innocent. It still bothers me, though. 4. People who smell like armpit 5. Arrogant people 6. People who ask me my nationality when they mean race (I understand people are pretty squirmish about this, but if you know me even a little you know I don't get offended easily, so go ahead and ask! :D). 7. People who ask me if I am going to North Korean when I tell them I'm going to Korea. Yep, I'm going to the North. I thought it would be fun to get shot. (One guy even asked me if Korea was still separate. These questions were acceptable when North Korea wasn't in the news every other day.) 8. People who let others talk down to them. (I'll defend my friends until the end, but I like it when they stand up for themselves as well. I don't mind getting in the middle to defend, but I appreciate it when it's not necessary. Plus, sometimes I get in trouble for defending a friend. I can't just sit back and watch, though.) 9. People who talk down to others, and people who have no respect for others. 10. Tattlers--especially at work. Deal with your own trivial issues like an adult unless it's a big issue (sexual assault, stealing/breaking expensive equipment, etc), and don't do it to become the boss' favourite. 11. People who show off their Gucci bag or designer clothes to people they don't even know in this way that tries to say, "Look how much better I am than you now." It's a bag. Yes, it's a pretty bag, but get over it. 12. Drama, especially office drama 13. Emotional relationships. Eww. They make me squirm. I know I'm a girl, but I don't want to tell you what I'm thinking, where the relationship is going or how I feel about this or that. Let's just hang out, have a good time and see where it goes naturally. Oh, and I hate it when guys I'm on a date with don't pay. My thinking on this is: you asked me out, so why wouldn't you pay? 14. People who try to talk like they're experts on subjects when they know nothing. 15. People who are not in my job field who try to tell me how to do my job. An example of this is how I was interviewing someone once for a story, and the person said, "This isn't a story. Why are you bothering to do this?" Grr. 16. Liars Okay, that list ended up a lot longer than I had planned. Whoops! :D |

This one is kind of random, but when there is a group of guys and everyone goes on and on about "boy" topics and then the girls talk for two seconds about make up or shoes and all the guys act like their bits will fall off. You know, I wasn't all that fascinated with the forty-five minute discussion of Grand Theft Auto and the latest Blackberry model. Deal! |

Seriously. Boys are so boring sometimes. :p I wanted to add: Your new avatar is freaking adorable. I "aww" every time I see it. :D |

PS. this is only when I know the asker is a male with "yellow fever". If it's an elderly person that still thinks "oriental" is the way to refer to Asians then I'll just tell them. |
Yeah, in fact, that is a pet peeve of mine! Men with yellow fever!!! |

Dogs that do something adorable over and over again and then stop when you are ready to capture it on film. :p |

But if it's someone older then I usually just say half Korean. I don't want to seem rude. It really does get on my nerves, though, especially since I've been asked that for as long as I can remember! How do you prefer people to ask you? Would you rather them just ask what race you are or do you have a different word? (I think people don't like to say anything that even comes close to the word "racist," which is why they're hesitant to ask me my race.) ETA: By the way, are you full or half? Or a quarter ... etc.? |

omg!! I have so many but i will list just 10 lol 1... I hate smacking... (of course if they cant help it) 2....I hate it when someone doesn't take responability for their own actions. 3... I hate liars.. 4... I hate back talkers... especially my kids. 5... I hate it when people take advantage of others 6... I hate it when people don't clean up after themselves. 7... I hate it when I correct my kids and others stare or try to correct my parenting skills. 8....I hate it when they call my chihuahua a rat. 9....I hate it when people are right up on me anywhere. I like to breath. 10...I hate it when I know I am right and others still try to tell me how to do it correctly.lol |
Ooo girls...this is a great thread....I only have a few, but they are HUGE: 1) Girls who fish for compliments!!!!! I HATE IT!! Oh, I'm fat, or Oh! My hair looks horrid! When they are skinny and have perfect hair!! 2) Girls who will not give compliments b/c they are jealous of others getting the compliments!! 3) People who brag about their life when everyone knows it's jacked up!! WTH!!? 4) Mean girls and jerk guys. 5) People who owns animals or have kids but have no clue how to care for and raise them! 6) Racist people. I will get in a brawl if it involves racial tension and someone disrespects! 7) When people ask me how much Snickers was!!! Stop! Thank you:) |
I hate it when people tell me I am sheltering my kids if I homeschool, which I am going back to this year. Aren't we supposed to shelter and protect our children? It is almost always those that feel personally offended like I think I am a better parent by it, or feel guilty because of their own lazy parenting. I hate it when people tell me what I HAVE to do with my kids, or get angry because I don't let my kids stay the night with theirs. Trust me, if you dare to tell me something I have to do...you can pretty much bet it will now never happen. People that show up to church for the social scene. If you aren't there for the right reason...don't go. People that carry fake designer bags and tell everyone they are real. Seriously, do you think I am going to believe you carry a $1000 bag when your family lives in borderline poverty? If you are, I feel bad for your family that you would put a bag as a priority. People that complain that they cannot find a job anywhere, yet haven't put their resume in anywhere in at least 6 months because of all the lovely unemployment extentions. Don't complain about a system you are clearly taking advantage of. People that complain about a president based on what the guys at work are saying, or people that vote based on who the guys at work are, and never once research anything for themselves. And a silly one....when someone pronounces milk "melk", tiolet "tolit" and a few others that are just silly sounding. It litterally makes me cringe. I want to correct them sooo badly, but I feel like a terrible snob when I get that way. |

Oh, seriously, that drives me out of my mind! |
3) People who brag about their life when everyone knows it's jacked up!! WTH!!? omg I forgot that one... from Vivians number 3... I have to add that to my number 11 lol you hit the nail on the head with that one..lol |
Okay now you guys have me going on laundry. Hubby wears a t-shirt under his pull over shirts. Yet he doesn't pull them apart before laundry so sometimes they get washed together and the t-shirt isn't white anymore. Also kleenex in his pockets, OMGosh I just want to scream when I open the washer or dryer and find millions of little white tissue pieces on the clean clothes and have to clean out the washer and dryer. At this age can't he pull his shirts apart and clean out his pockets? I don't always catch it myself. |
when people bring their dogs in where i work they dont vaccinate them at all or keep fleas ticks off them bathe them brush them or do anything with them at all they havent eating anything but bones in weeks and they have been losing weight they are vommiting and dehydrated and sick the dogs eye are yellow (liver failure) but want them seen right now because they are leaving out of town for a week and was worried about leaving them tied out in the yard while they were gone UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! some people !!! ya just want to slap them! then they don't want to spend alot of money to take care of them to top it all off! you just want to scream and cry at the same time! |

Well, so long as I am not limited to listing only one...:p 1) Ignorant drivers. Specifically, drivers who try to zoom past a line of cars in a turn lane or emergency lane and then cut someone off at the last minute to cut back in line. Yes, I have been known to inch my car out into said turn/emergency lane to block such morons so that they cannot get past. 2) Irresponsible pet owners. More specifically, people who let their dogs/cats have free roam especially if it results in fluffy sleeping or walking on my car! 3) People who cut in line in Disney World. I'm not talking one person who got separated from the group, or parent with child rejoining the family because Jr. all of a sudden HAD to GO...I mean groups of people, 1/2 of the family or my favorite group of teenagers #1 pushing through everyone trying to meet up with group of teenagers #2 in the front of the line who are motioning them forward. 4) When my parents try to tell me what I *should* or *should not* and act as if they know how to better run my life. Point in case, I believe they honestly think my husband and I are incapable of going on even a brief vacation and taking our daughter without one of them along to supervise. Anytime we mention to them our plans to do so, they immediately start with the "leave the kid with us and you guys go without her." 5) This one lady at work who thinks that she is the only one who ever works and thinks that everyone else plays around all day. She spends a huge chunk of her time snooping around and trying to keep tabs on everyone else instead of focusing on her own job. It's really quite pathetic to sit back and watch. She stands at the printer acting like she's waiting on someone just so she can check out what's on everyone's computer screens. |

YEAH, that one! Isn't that crazy. Or those who decide to have a chit-chat session or family reunion in the middle of the grocery store aisles, blocking people who actually came there to SHOP and GET OUT. The "close standers" drive me nuts too. Gum Smackers. Chomping like cows with their mouths open. People at the grocery store who wait until everything is rung up to make out a check. Like it's an afterthought "oh, yes, I need to pay for that don't I." then proceed to write it out ever so slowly, and then sometimes to slow things up yet more they balance their checkbook right there at the counter. People who talk loudly and too much at restaurants, as if they're giving a speech or seminar that everyone in the surrounding tables must hear. ------- This is a fun topic... I could come up with more, but will stop here. :) |

Oh funny, I think we must work at the same place. |

Ohhhh, I hate that too! Give me my personal space, man!! When I used to have LONG hair, I used to FLICK it back. hehe lol Sometimes, even doing that wouldn't help. Quote:
I also HATE it when they press on their brakes...for NO reason!! |
