Cannot believe this!!!! [WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES] 1 Attachment(s) I was invited to join this group by one of my friends on Facebook and was just so shocked and disgusted that there are people out there that find this acceptable! PLEASE sign the petition so we can stop this monster! In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death. For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died. But this is not all ... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of Central America decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008. WE NEED TO STOP HIM! please sign this petition to stop him from doing it again Sign the Boycott to the presence of Guillermo Vargas "Habacuc" at the Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008 Petition |
This is beyond disgusting, but I am confused about the dates. Was this something that was circulating prior to 2008 and is now over? |
I remember seeing this and if my memory serves me there was more to the story than what was reported ~ no? |
I'm not sure about the dates, I just received it today and just found it so disturbing! |
he did this "art work" like a year or two ago.. but he wants to promote it and continue it as his signature work. |
I'd like to tie him up and let him starve to death. What a horrible person, not even worthy of being a human. |
This is sooo disturbing. I heard about this over a year ago. Just a heads up, it would be nice if you put a "warning" graphic image" in the title of your thread, or something to that affect when you post about inhumanities like this one. Some people have a real hard time with looking at actual images of animal abuse/torture or cruelty. Thanks |

I did a Snopes search on this and they can neither confirm nor deny this. The exhibit did occur in Nicaragua. There was a sick looking dog as the exhibit, but the museum CLAIMS that the dog was well fed and taken care of after-hours. They claim that the dog ran away one night, not died. I don't know about you, but that seems like too many CLAIMS to me. This is so sad. |
How sad. My heart was breaking for the dog after reading your post. I just sign the petition. :( |
