GHAAAAAA HOW can a BABY scream SO lound and long! :idontknow I have a BEAUTIFUL daughter some of you remember I found out about four WEEKS before I had her....I prayed for YEARS....I have a 18 year od son, never could get pg after that...well, once and I lost it....so THESE are the things I remind myself of when we are having rough days. Sydney is going on 10 months and she screamed non stop for 6 and half months with colic and they finally listen when I told them there was more to it then colic and gave her reflux medicine....that helped ALOT, then she strarted teething and had the high pitch screaming down to a T so its a lot of fun around here. I haven't left my house hardly at all going on 10 months. My husband is great helping with everything when he gets off work and on weekends, but some days its just so hard. I do believe I am starting to see a light at the end of this tunnel as she learns a few words, cause and affect, ect... so Its not all bad, I am just wore down and really don't want to go anywhere, but I do want to....if that make sense. With all that said, I wouldn.t trade her for the world. Thanks for listening! Angie |
You poor thing! Just hand in there. As you know, we blink an eye and their teenagers and we are wishing to go back to those screaming days....well....maybe not that far back! :p |
Those are very trying times. Just remember it won't last forever. I loved it when my dtr turned 2, so much easier!!! Hugs |
Okay so I know this is an old wives tale but my great grandmother told me to do this when Laci (my skin kid) was teething and it worked....take a piece of ribbon and get a dime for the year they were born, drill a hole in the dime put it on the ribbon and use it as a necklace (under your supervision of course) we tied Laci's so that she couldn't get ahold of it to put it in her mouth for fear of choking and I was so apprehensive about it at first but after all of the crying stopped it became my newfound miracle... I totally understand if you do not feel comfortable doing this b/c I was too and it sounds so odd just one mom trying to help another out |
Are you sure its just teething? I have never had any of my babies cry really badly with teething, only with an ear infection. If it continues, even overnight, I would take her in to get checked out. Teething is relatively easy to sooth with teethers or meds, where with ear infections they are much harder to console. I hope she feels better soon. Its really hard to enjoy this time in their lives when they are miserable so often! |

I don't remember my son crying much with teething--fussy yes. I had baby washcloths that I used just for this purpose. I would wet them and then freeze them. He loved to gnaw on them. |
I have been there, done that and SURVIVED. My middle son tried to come prematurely (at 32 weeks just as his brother did). Labor was stopped using a medicine that made me extremely nervous. He wound up coming at term, but he was a very nervous baby -- looking back, I realize that he was probably addicted to the meds they gave me to stop labor. BUT he cried non stop for the first year of his life. He slept very little and screamed when he was not being held. I had a 17 month old and was pregnant by the time he was 6 months old. My husband traveled extensively with his work and we had recently moved far away from family and friends. There were sove very trying times, I was exhausted much of the time -- but I am here to tell you that that phase was short lived AND my dear sweet Earl was worth every sleepless moment -- he is now a very handsome 26 year old that loves his mommy very much :) Remember, this too will pass. For me a cup of hot chocolate, a good book and a hot bath (all at the same time :D) was a short respite. Good luck!!! |
Thanks y'all! I don;t think its an ear infection...she is not pullyng at her ears. She just gets so MAD and then if a tune on the TV catches her attention she stops and gets all into that...lol Yes, I NEED to get out in the sun and she would enjoy the stroller walks ( I NEED the excercise too! ) |
I understand where your at and I hope you have good susport. I babysit a little boy who is now 7 months olds. I babysit him once a week for a friend whos husband is unfortunatly in Iraq and he sounds ALOT like your daughter. It does seem to get easier as they get older and the Dr PROMISES the reflux will get better as he ages. I can do 1 day a week with this little one but I dont know how the moms do it day in day out. Its very hard. Never fear asking for help, all moms need and deserve it :) |
Thanks. Yeah....her DR. says usually around a year old they can be taken off the reflux....lets hope for both babies! Angie |
