I could use some prayers. Hi YorkieTalk family. I went to the eye doctor yesterday- kinda just because I haven't been in ages (had lasik eye surgery 5 years ago.. and see quite well.. or so i thought) During all the tests he closed my left eye so i could only see out of my right and my vision was very very blurry. Turns out my cornea is becoming cone shaped as opposed to the semi circle shape it should be. This is causing the blurry vision in my one eye- howver since my left eye sight is so good- i don't notice it on a daily basis. The eye doctor has contacted the people who did the laser vision surgery to see if this was an issue before or after the surgery and will base how progressive this is on those results- i havent' heard back yet. If it is progressing quickly, i may need to wear a hard contact lens (really don't want to have to do that) and should it progress too quickly i would need a cornea transplant (really REALLY REALLY don't want that... can't even fathom that...) I'm hoping since i haven't noticed my vision changing that it isn't progressing and that it will remain stable - i'm only 25!!! Anyways- any prayer you could spare would be great- i'm very very stressed out about this. |
Eek! You definitely have my prayers! I am hoping that this is something that easily fixed! Sending you plenty of hugs! |
Marci - you know you can count on my for prayers!!!! Please keep us posted. |
Oh Marci I am so sorry...I hope that the docs who originally did the Lasik can correct it. I had mine done many years ago and thankfully all went well. Let's hope for the best and if something has to be done let's pray it's minor and not a corneal transplant.:( |
Sending prayers your way Marci. Keep us posted & I hope all turns out well. Hugs |

Oh dear Marci! How scary for you :(, I'm sorry you're going through this. Sounds like your doctor is on top of it, and that's good. I wore hard contacts way back when, and they're a little odd to get used to, but over time it was just fine and I couldn't even feel them anymore. You are in my thoughts. Big hugs to you. :) |

So if your eye is fairly bad, it's gonna hurt! My prescrip for nearsightedness is -11.00! No kidding. And acuvue is the only brand that makes the prescription that strong, AND the highest they go is -12.00. So when I get old I'm screwed. Oh I'm 29 and have been wearing glasses since 2nd grade, and contacts since 4th grade. I have never met anyone with eyesight as poor as mine, or even close to it. If you have bad vision tell me your prescription! I'm curious does anyone out there exist??? |

Sending prayers :hands: and big hugs your way. |
Sorry to read Marci, your having problems with your eyes. I will keep you in my prayer's that it can be corrected without much discomfort to you. Hugs, |
Awww...sorry to hear that. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best for you. For what it's worth, I worked for years as a surgical assistant to a corneal specialists and what you have (Kerataconus) is pretty common and easily fixed much more often than you would think...even if it does require transplant surgery. People hear "transplant" and freak out but it is really a very simple procedure. I know that probably doesn't help easr YOUR concerns, understandably. I can assure you though, even with that being the worst case scenario, any form of treatment you may face is not that bad...more of just a very inconvenient PITA if you know what I mean. Hugs to you and keep us updated. |
awww sweetie... prayers going your way. Im very sympathetic to eye problems having a few surgeries myself early in life... ouch! I'll pray its sloooowwww progression and you either need nothing or just a hard lens for awhile. (((HUGS))) |
I will keep you in my prayers. |
I am praying for you Marci. Big Hugs! |
Of course we'll keep you in our prayers! Hugs! |
Aww, I'm sorry Marci. I hope you hear something soon and they can do something. Do you think that maybe the other eye is over compensating for the blurred vision and that could be the cause of the headaches you keep getting? |
