Firefox Use to work so well for me. Now it's crashing every 2 minutes. Can't get anything done. Any ideas of a better search engine? IE was a mess for me, too. Thanks. ~Joanne~ |
HI! Firefox works great for me. Last week they had an upgrade. You might want to upgrade yours. Hope it works! |
Googled firefox and crashing. Said to un-install and re-install. Also said something about plug-ins. Don't know what that is. |
Well, did the uninstall and reinstall of firefox and not luck. Went and found IE in my programs and am using that for the time being. Going to call my computer expert. |
I rarely with Firefox functioning issues. Have you ran a virus scan and do you have adware and spyware programs? No idea what it could be... |
I had so many problems the past few weeks with Firefox but I think it was viruses, I had them removed and they came back and then it automatically installed the updates and crashed. I went out and got a Mac hoping not to have problems with viruses. |
I had this very issue . Matter of fact I am on a lap top and my desk top is still in the shop. I bought my own VIRUS:( Something popped upon my screen and so I clicked on it and WHAMO a VIRUS! I thought it was FIREFOX and I thought it was IE it was neither I had a bad virus that no matter what I did it attatched iteself to everything I had. Please be leary of it it is called PAV which stands for Personal Anti Virus STAY AWAY FROM IT! I bought it and I am out $48.98 They are scams and I have no way of recovering my money. Sorry you are having problems I hope you get it resolved soon HUGS Vicki |
Found this page: Mozilla Firefox Release Notes. if you find your version, by going to "Help" and then "about" you can click on the particular version and try the solutions they offer, but some of them sound complex! |
Nancy sent this link to me. I followed what he did in his update at the bottom and would you believe I did find that extension folder? I deleted it and maybe by chance it will work. My Temporary Solution to Fix Mozilla Firefox 3 Random Crashing Problem Raymond.CC Blog |

Since I went into Firefox extensions and deleted that folder that is mentioned in the link I posted above, it has not crashed on me once. Highly unusually. Just wonder how long that folder has been there. I never downloaded it so I'm not sure how it got there. The man in the link I posted also said the same thing. I'd encourage anyone with Firefox problems to read what the man says in his update at the bottom of the link and do what he did. So far it has worked for me. |
I also deleted that folder. I've crashed 1 time since then. No biggie though compared to the constant crashing before! I need to go back in and see if the folder is back. |

that being said, it's just a matter of time till more and more people get macs, and the virus writers will target us as well. I have been using safari on my mac. The new version of firefox is slowing down my ibook b/c it's an older one, i don't think it can support v3. |
I like Firefox, but it is horribly slow on some of the forums I post on so I have to use IE for those. But surfing is fine and I've not gotten viruses from Firefox. Hope you can get it all figured out. :( |
