Sand in the City...in the Big "O" 4 Attachment(s) It was that time again.......Sand in the City! It's a benefit sponsored by the Nebraska Children's Home Society. There are awesome sand sculptures and fun games for kids to play, as well as a giant sand pile for them to dig and build their own sculptures. We've gone to in for the last 3 years and always had a good time. Enjoy the pictures! :D They are done by teams for different business around Omaha....17 different ones in all! Attachment 279994This is the "main" sculpture done by the Nebr. Children's Home team. It is sculpted all the way around front & back. Attachment 279996This may look familar to anyone following the Yodi Adventure thread. A sculpture depicting the College World Series held here every year complete with a mini sculpture of the Rosenblatt Stadium. Attachment 279995 Our grand-daughters Allie & Emily in front of a "Finding Nemo" sculpture. Attachment 279997Monsters vs Aliens movie theme More to come................. |
Just a few more fun pics............. 4 Attachment(s) Okay, this post is mostly the for the fun the grand-kids had....... Attachment 280007 Hula hooping & sidewalk chalk drawings were just some of the free fun they had for kids to do. Attachment 280009 A $1 donation & the kids got to decorate (and eat) their own sugar cookie. Attachment 280006 Here's Emily & Allie digging in the huge sand pile! After that, I had to take them home and hose them down in the shower. That sand was pretty wet from all the rain the night before and they were a mess.............but they had fun! Attachment 280008 My best for last.......This is just part of this particular sand sculpture exhibit. It was done by Mutual of Omaha & titled "Wild Kingdom". There were other zoo animals sculpted, but penguins are a favorite of mine, so I chose a close up on them for this shot. The sculptures are different and seem to get better every year. It amazes me the talent some people have & what can be done with sand and water. |
You have all the fun Rose, look at those grandbabies, I can't wait till Kyleigh is older and we can enjoy things like this. Thanks for sharing Rose, love the pics!:D |
