oh boy, cooking goof! I am afraid my family is going to suffer from sugar slump after dinner tonight :( It is our tradition that we have strawberry shortcake for dinner with our first strawberry picking. I was making the cake and the recipe called for 6 tbs ( I was doubling to 6) and I added 1 cup :eek::eek: I had dry stirred it and then realized my goof. I tried to get as much as I could out. Think they will notice???:rolleyes: Unfortunately, I used the last of the bisquick for this double batch and can't redo it. <sigh> I'm such a doofus! In my defense, they also have 1/2 c sugar listed HOWEVER, this was to be put on the berries NOT in the cake. |
I think I'd bake it and see how it tastes. Who knows, it may be the best they've ever eaten! :) I read once where allot of new recipes are created by accident.....This last Saturday, I made some blueberry muffins and the recipe called for 1/2 c. sugar and I didn't have my glasses on and only put in 1 tsp. Needless to say we ended up with blueberry biscuits. Hope it turns out for you and your family doesn't notice. :) |
Ha ha sounds like my idea of the perfect shortcake biscuits, the more sugar in my case the better. I am however shocked to see you admitting to using bisquick. Do you know you can make them from scratch?:p Remind me not to call you Martha Stewart.:D |
I am going to say that the saying "the more the merrier" would apply here too!!! Just serve with ice cream to offset some of the sweetness or cold glasses of milk???? ( Oh and I would be more than happy to take a piece off of your hands, I promise I'm not picky especially when it comes to strawberries) :D:D:D |
