What is a good digtal camrea for under 100?
 
I need some help, anyone know of a good digtal camrea for under $100. that comes with rechargeable batteries? I'm going to DC again in July with my family for the husband to get some testing done at NIH. We're planning on going to the Zoo and the Smithson muesums. Last time I used the one shot deal camreas and they weren't the best and we ended up buying some more while there at $15.00 a pop for two. So I'd like to find one that is newbie friendly. and not a bank breaker.

Well, I would highly suggest the Canon Powershots. They've always taken GREAT pics and my family all have Powershots. Very clear and crisp photos. They're not under $100, but the cheaper ones range from $130-$170. I think it's worth it paying an extra $30 for a better camera.

Canon - Powershot 10.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Blue - A480

This is the cheapest Canon and I have no experience with it.

I know a ton of people with this camera:
Canon - PowerShot 10.0-Megapixel Digital ELPH Camera - Silver - SD790 IS
And they LOVE it. The pictures are very clear and crisp. I know it's more than you were willing to spend but it's actually on sale for $170 at Best Buy when it's usually $200. Here's a few pictures taken with that exact model..

I have this Canon and absolutely love it. But I realize this one is more than you're willing to spend...

Canon - PowerShot 9.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black - SX110IS

But that's the camera I have and I LOVE it because it's very simple and easy to use but takes great pics. This camera is also on sale at Best Buy and you could also probably find good deals on it on Amazon or ebay. Here's some of my pics...

The first camrea is great. It's even on sale again. it went from $129.99 to $109.99 in the cart. Works for me. I'm willing to spend more but I'm not really camrea savy. and accident prone. LOL

It has 26 reviews....all GREAT, except one. Its on sale for 109.00. Says it has features like the higher end models like smile dection etc...

I have a sony cybershot and I've had mine for 3 years now and still works amazing with awesome pictures. I believe the lowest priced one is $129, but there may be sales this weekend with memorial day. Also, check ebay for good deals on cameras.

Yes, the Sony Cybershots have always been really good too! My step-sister has always gotten those cameras. Plus, videos are great on the Sonys.

I got the little puprple sanya tonight.....so far, LOVE it! It has sports setting for action and differnt settings my more expensive camera had. The battery that comes with is rechargeable....that is awesome too! I will play with it more tomorrow.

I have a Canon Powershot Also It's a great camera.

It hold's a REALLY long charge i use it almost every day & only charge it about Once every 2 week's & it only takes a half hour to charge.

The picture's are really clear also I love the Macro setting's.

The macro is my favorite part of the Powershot! I think I will be sticking with Canons from now on :)

LOL okay I will I will. LOL Cannon Powershot will be ordered as of tomorrrow morning. To bad I've got to order offline as the store {Walmart} doesn't carry them in the store.

Hi, you can put your zip code in when you have the camera pulled up and it will tell you which stores closest to you carry them...if any. I did that with the sanya....NOW,ya'll have made me question my choice, BUT I got it for 80.00 off CL b/c she got the same model a gift in pink and sold me the one in purple...its a month old with the warranty purchased...so I did get a great deal and the revwies were really good. I hope to ba able to get a cannon or nikkon for Christmas...my little girl will be almost 6 and half she can use the purple camera or I will keep it as back up. The girl I got it from who is using her pink one says she loves it.....so maybe it will do good for a while!

Anyway, have fun with your new camera and don't forget to pick up photo paper if your gonna print. Also, you can email what you want printed to wal mart and pick them up in an hour.

congratulations. I noticed you want to use it on vacation. You probably need to buy the extra card that stores many pictures. The ones in most cameras don't hold but a few and you have to upload them continually so you can delete them off your camera which, unless you are taking a laptop, you won't be able to do on vacation.

you can't go wrong with a Canon...but they are over $100 but well worth the extra buck...i have 2 Canon powershot and 1 Canon DSLR...i also have a Sony cybershot N1....heheh

Oh I'll be taking my husband's new laptop. with LoJack on it. Anyway I'm planning on getting a 8 g mem card. Tigerdirect has them on sale for $15.00

Once I save up enough money, I would LOVE to get a DSLR and it will be a Canon. Too expensive for me right now though. And I like just having the small camera to lug around but I'd definitely like a dslr soon to have.

well I got the Rebel Xs then they came out with the Rebel Xsi now the Rebel T1 that records in HD....technology is constantly changing...hehe...so maybe you can get a deal one of the older models...

i haven't learn the full functionality of my camera...but next semester I plan on taking an advance digital photography that the City of Arts building here in Wichita, KS is offering for 6 weeks for $88.00 hehe...then after i master my camera i will most likely upgrade it if i need too...hehe

I have a Canon Powershot as well. It works really well!
