Darn Snake is back! 2 Attachment(s) So, the darn snake ate the robin's eggs and now I come home this evening from son's baseball game to find a 5-5.5 ft and a 4 ft snake getting it on in my flower garden... so DH finally took the both of them and dumped them over the bank into the creek... my hero! I really hate snakes! They give me the eebbie geebies! |
Snakes give me the eebbie geebies too. Thinking about them sometimes makes my skin itch. It is heartbreaking to know they ate some of your robin eggs. I am glad your husband found them another home. |
You are a much bigger person that I am cause they would be 2 dead snakes if it were me. I live on the lake and have had 3 in my fenced in yard allready this year. The good thing is yours is just what we call a chicken snake (harmless). The ones we get are water moc????? |
Oh gosh I wish I would not have looked at those pics, it made my skin crawl, yikes!!!!!!!!!! |
Ew Ew Ewwwww! I hate snakes, spiders! Those pictures gives me the chills.. I am a chicken when it comes to those. You have a wonderful husband to do that..Mine would run the other way too.. lol! :p |
We have copperheads but (knock on wood) we haven't found any in our immediate yard. We have found them in the fields behind the house and one dead up on the road. I fear snakes but am becoming fearless at taking their pictures (from afar). DH was going to pick them both up at the same time.. when they were together, but I started freaking out so he used a stake to grab one at a time. |
EWWWW! I would have died! |
Wow.... I would have dropped dead, I am terrified of snakes now more than ever since I seen that movie "Snakes on the Plane" last week. |
Question for Erickajm Do you ever worry about snakes attacking your yorkies? |
OMG!!! My son would be playing with that thing if he could!!! He always finds little snakes and of course brings them home!!! It drives me nuts!! They are never that BIG though!! I would be freaking out!!!!:eek::eek: |
Yuck!!! EEWWWWW Totally agree with JoshieBoy! I got the heebie geebies from just looking at them! I would be so paranoid to go outside after seeing them. I HATE SNAKES!! That was very nice of your DH because I wouldn't have been so nice! :p |

OMG!!!!! I feel like a real wimp now, after seeing that picture. While outside doing some weed pulling today, came across a snake about 10 inches long and screamed so loud, woke hubby up from his nap inside the house. Needless to say I will be leaving all yard work to lawn service. |
ewww, ewwww, ewww, ewwww, that is all I can say! ewwwww! |
I like snakes better than rodents Your black snake friends are probably why you don't see copperheads around. Many non-poisonious snakes kill and eat the poisonous ones. Especially king snakes- NEVER EVER kill a king snake! Hummmmm, I've never seen a snake orgy before  thank you for sharing. I've always wondered about that. Your husband is my hero as well, but for a different reason. I am very proud of him for being a snake bouncer and tossing them over the wall rather than killing them. We try to keep a snake in our barn to help the barn cats with rodent patrol. |

Snake sex in the petunia's....Thats a first for me! I would've been frozen in terror even if they are harmless. |
Honestly, I don't think about a snake biting the yorkies.. I guess it could happen but the way they rip and tear through the yard, the snake would have a hard time catching them! Ha! They don't go down by the stream. I really can't imagine them being curious enough to mess with a snake. Usually when we happen to come upon a snake it is pretty quick to retreat back wherever it came from so no, I guess I really don't worry...maybe I should...hmmm. I hadn't thought about the black snakes killing off the venomous ones...I remember when we first moved here we did kill a black snake. (not knowing any better) but since then we just let them be. Ty was looking out the window the one day and happened to see the tail of one (second floor) it was going into the walls..( sorry, that was for all the squeamish readers) under the siding. As long as I dont see them inside my house. I am ok with them living in the walls or in the basement. Once one comes inside... its on! |

Snakes are a link in the food chain, the link that eats rodents. They are ok in my book. |
