I'm Moving!!! YEA...but need advice I have the roommate from H-E-double hockey sticks :) hahaha....First of all she is never home...her boyfriend lives across the street and she stays the night with him every night...and the worst part of that is they party over here first!! They make a mess and then leave. Last weekend I went home and came back and they (her, her boyfriend and their friends) had eaten all my food. Also her crazy dog (Jack Russel Terrier-Daphne) bites Gracie...whenever Daphne is out Gracie is hiding in her kennel. Daphne pees and poops all over the house and it smells so bad. my roommate won't clean it up so sometimes I will find poop on the floor and have to clean it up!!! Then the final straw was last week on a WEDNESDAY night (I have 8 am class Thursday) they have a keggar at my house!!! She never asked if it was okay just did it....I wake up the next morning to random people sleeping on the couch and in my roommates bed and puke in the front yard!!! I just couldn't take it anymore!!! I am a very neat and clean person and my roommate is a slob!!!! so i found somewhere else to live. The house is closer to campus, both of my new roommates are VERY clean, and my rent is going to be $100 cheaper....Only problem is telling my roommate and her mom who is the landlord....I never signed a lease or anything so i am not legally bound but i don't want to tell on my roommate to her mom but I can't live here anymore!!! What should I say to her mom??? |
Just tell her mom it was a conflict of intrest. |
Seeing you have no lease you really don't owe or have to go into great detail as to why your leaving. I would just say I found something that is going to work out better financially and is closer and that is not a lie. If the woman pushes you I personally would not hesitate to explain how you weren't raised like a slob and that the living conditions are pretty crappy. Good luck to you though it sounds like in the long run you are going to be way better off and so is your furbaby. |
If she asks? The truth! Just print off a copy of what you just wrote in case she asks, hand it to her, and leave... |
Thats what I was gonna say also. You dont have to get into specifics. I bet her mom already knows. |
I guess you could just tell them you found a place closer and that it is cheaper. Just tell her the truth. You could prolly leave the part out about her daughter being a slob! Glad you found a better place to live though! |

PS - I'm so sorry that your fur-baby was scared of your roommates dog. I bet she'll love her new home! |
