Anyone old enough to remember Gallagher? 3 Attachment(s) My husband, dtr and her friend and I went to a comedy club for the first time and saw Gallagher. He was on TV back in the day. He smashes watermelons etc. and is pretty politically incorrect in his humor. It was a really funny show and the hour before he went on he came by everyones table to sign tickets and have pics taken. |
Oh my goodness...YES!! :D That's really cool you got to see and meet him. |
Yes, sorry to say I remember him, that is so cool. |
I absolutely LOVED Gallagher. :D And I loved watching all the melon pieces go flying into the audience:D |
YES I remember Gallagher. He was one that could always make me laugh out loud. :D LOVED the watermelon smashing!!!! I can still recognize his face; just a little older....aren't we all. He never did have a head of hair so I'm not surprised that he's pretty bald......except for the back????? That is his hair right? It looks gray/silver at the roots and has color the rest of the way. |
Who???? LOL. Yeah I'm that old. |
Yes, I do remember! He looks a bit older but I would have recognized that long bushy hair! ;) Were ya'll close enough to the stage to get to wear panchos for the watermelon smashing bit? Did he do that? |
How fun - sledge-o-matic was a favorite!!!!!! P.S. love your shirt!! |
Lol, I got a kick out of the pictures, he seems to have a "photo face" in the pictures, you know, same expression for each picture. That may be part of his problem, he finds something that works well, but doesn't ever want to change it. The slegematic was a hilarious skit, and was extremely popular, but it became his only skit. He had lots to say, and I enjoyed his political humor, but everything turned to the smashing watermelons, and I wished he had taken a risk and left that out, but I guess after a while, too many people were expecting it, and he didn't have a choice. I had a huge crush on him, and I'm glad he's doing well. |
I think he's one of the funniest comedys, and was sorry to see him go. |
We got their early and sat in the back. It was a very small comedy club so even the farthest tables were close!! He only did about 10 minutes of smashing mostly politically incorrect jokes!!! He said that he was banned from TV in '79. He is definitley a lot older looking but so a I!!!!! Thanks I love the peace sign!! So glad it is cool again! |
Oh yes, I remember Galligher I got to see him in person at one of his shows back in the 70's  My how time flys when your having fun !!!!! |
Okay...I'll admit it! I remember him! What great pictures and I'm glad you had such a good time! You deserved a night out! What fun it looks like you had! Hugs to you! |

Did'nt he have a curly fro...Yes I so remember him. He was rather annoying. He looks better now than he did in the 70. |
the only thing i remember about gallagher was him smashing watermelons. I think i was a bit young for his humor but smashing giant fruit with a sledgehammer is always funny. lol |
I remember him! Wow he's gotten old! Probably still pretty funny though right? :) |
Yes he was very funny!!! Thanks Villette! I feel so old!! |
Saw Gallagher at our local Wal-Mart a few years ago when he was in town performing. DH and I went up to say hi and he didn't have too much to say. He was in the toy section looking for new props and was wearing his onstage get up (striped spandex pants and beret). He may have been distracted but it was cool to have seen/met him up close. |
