Help with the dishwasher . . bubbles, bubbles everywhere! I can't find anything about Jet Dry causing this . .but it is the only thing I can think of that would of done this. Yesterday I put a new Jet Dry in and I spilled a little, I really thought nothing of it . . sooooo this morning, I ran the dishwasher . .it didn't sound like it normally does . . in fact, my husband was like WOW, I wished it was always this quiet . . .All of a sudden . .soap bubbles start pouring out of the bottom of the dishwasher . . . I immediately turned it off and we slowly opened the dishwasher door fully expecting a ton of water to come flooding out . . .:p all there is is bubbles . . .Soooooo my question is . . has anyone had this happen with a spilled rinse agent? And HOW in the world can I get rid of all those bubbles?? Oh, and should I remove the dirty dishes or leave them in there while I try to figure out how to clean the soap?? |
Only time I've experience bubble overload was attempting to use something other than dishwashing detergent in mine. I let the cycle run through...and had a really clean floor afterward. |

The spilled Jet Dry must have reacted with your dishwashing liquid causing it to produce lots of suds like regular dish soap therefore causing the leakage. Oh yeah you can scoop out as much bubbles as you can, and then you just let it finish washing (thats what my maintenance man said) it will still leak until all the soap is out. A towel under the dishwasher usually works. Good luck |
Thanks! I know I have a huge chore ahead of me when I get home from work . . .well, at least it smells really good!:D |

Ha....this happened to us too! When my oldest was 10 (he is now 27) was helping me with the dishes, he put Dawn (not realizing he was using the WRONG soap) in the soap holder in the dishwasher. He filled it full!!!! We had soap for days!!!!! I couldn't get mad, we just laughed and laughed. All three of my kids (they were 10, 8 & 6) had a ball playing in the the soap suds! We ended using sheets to wipe up most of the bubbles off the floor before we could even begin to mop! That was really a fun time! :lol tears:lol tears:lol tears |
My husband did that once too! "You mean there is special soap for the dishwasher?" We had bubbles everywhere. I turned it off and used paper towels as best I could to get them all out as well as the dish soap! Men! That wasn't as bad as the time he put mittens on my sons feet when he took him to the babysitter one morning.....:p |
my hubby of 33 years is always helping me with everything. He also helped with the dishes causing a bubble bomb..LOL... to fix this just put in about a cup or so of liquid fabric softner pourded over the bubbles and watch them dissapear.... then just run the rinse cycle to make sure the machine dosen't have any softner left in it or next time the DISHWASHER SOAP may not work as well. good luck.. I think all of us at one time or another have probably done this or maybe the washing machine. use the same procedure for to many washer bubbles. |

Mom2TwoYorkies: HOW in the world can I get rid of all those bubbles? Hmmm good question, my husband cleaned up my mess, but I would think just leave them alone until they pop, and start all over again;) |
