Need help finding a dogs owner
 

Hi,

Another fellow YT member contacted me tonight about a dog a friend of hers had found (he had been thrown out of a car by some teenagers). The lady tried to find the owners of the dog but was not able to and she is not able to keep the dog. So I picked him up tonight and will post him on the rescue I belong to....

But before I do that I want to try one more time to find his owners if they are looking for him. He is very friendly, house trained. loves to play with toys and overall just a great dog.

He seems to be a Jack Russel Terrier Mix or some sort of terrier...I cannot figure out how to post a picture of him.

I am bringing him tomorrow to my vet to be scanned...maybe he will be microchipped. There has been an ad in the papers for the past week about him and he was even on Fox news (a local station) about what happened to him, but noone has come forward to claim him.

Where else should I be posting an ad about him and where else should I be looking for his owners. I would like to try that avenue first and then if I cannot find his owner I will put him on our website to be adopted.

He had to have been very loved at one point...he is so sweet and goo natured and you can tell he has lived in a house...he is not thin, and he was wearing a red harness...

Any suggestions of where to look for his owners or where else to place an ad please let me know...

You can feel to see if he's micro chipped. My oldest biewer is, and it feels like a piece of rice. His is on the back of his neck up pretty high, just kind of fell around. Good luck, kids can be so mean.:(

I would call the police, and the local vets animal control, and shelters since he was dropped off in a car I would probably try a 60 minute radius from where the dog was left.

The police in my town are well aware of him..... he has even been on the news here...

I tried feeling for a micrcochip, but could not feel one...his hair is alot coarser then my guys...so that might be making it harder...

Tomorrow I am going to contact some other shelters in the area....

He is not micro-chipped. The vet feels he is about 6 years old. He needs a dental, but otherwise looks very healthy. They thought he was a purebred Jack Russell.

I put a found ad on petfinders and have been checking shelters today...so far no one is looking for him :-(

I do have someone that is interested in adopting him, so that is great...I just want to give it another week to try and find his owners. And I will have him fully vetted, before he goes anywhere.

I also want to thank JeanM1963 from YT...she is the one who conacted me all upset and concerned about this little guy.... I met her last night at the home of the person who was taking care of him... she was right he is a great little dog..
