Well, we've decided to GO FOR IT and move to the beach! (Following up this distressed post.)

The moving truck has been reserved for Sept. 27-28 and we are driving down tomorrow (Sept. 10) to sign a lease on a condo! We are SO excited!!! (Click here to read my blog entry about this weekend.) My notice has been given at work and my last day will be Sept. 24! I will miss this job!

But, UMM... Now, supposedly Hurricane Ophelia could hit Charleston while we're down there? What in the world are we going to do now?

As it stands now, the plans are to go anyway and if the hurricane hits, it hits. My mom said "well, Valerie, it's just a Category 1." Oh yeah, JUST ...even though last year, Tropical Storm Gaston ripped people's roofing off all over our neighborhood. No biggie, right? We can't reschedule this, we just can't!? Agh!!!

(I should have guessed that a hurricane by the name of Ophelia could be nothing but bad news. :()

THIS: http://www.4rent4lease.com/property.php?i=312 is one of our favorite properties we're looking at so far (on Daniel Island)! But to be honest, we have no idea which condo/townhome we're going to choose. We have our favorites now but we expect it all to change after we tour them all, on Monday.....pending um, the hurricane of course.

Yeah what will happen with sully?? but, if they say something say, " what?!!? he's not a PET he's my son!!!!" lol. :rolleyes:

NO, YOU CAN'T HAVE SULLY! :p

Pets are allowed.....the rental company changed it, but haven't changed it on this listing site. No worries, I've been in close touch with the realtor of this place and she knows all about Sully and Penny (my cat). Besides, I would never live somewhere that my babies' aren't allowed!! Never ever.

And yes, I love that kitchen too! And the complex has a pool also :thumbup:

Oh darn!! I would love to have Sully the wonderdog. My dog can't drive or ride a goat or any of those fun things. No seriously, I figured you already had that covered and hope you guys get the one you want!

Hey what abt the Union meetings,, driving half way will be much further!!
No thats great,,, Ya know,, when I was 22 my boyfriend and I lived on Kiawa Island,, 30 mins from charleston,,he was a chef at The Privateer restaraunt,,, until it got leveled,,,but I think they rebuilt. It is SO nice there,, you will love it... we were there for abt 8 months,,then I got homesick... what a fool I was! ( young and dumb)!

ok just read the earlier post,,you are from there,,,then you know how nice it is! duh!! I think i even spelled Kiawah (sp) wrong,,,its been so long since I was there,,i forget! ha

Ah, that's neat you know the area, even if it has been a while! I just love it....it's home, but to me it's even more than that! I think Eli and I would want to move there even if I wasn't from there (I'm from Mt. Pleasant).....but haven't lived there since high school. It's been a while for me too, for that matter. The area has changed a lot since then, I have been told.

Val, Congratulations on your move. I love the condo. Awesome. Hey No pets, I will love to have Sully move with us, ;) . I know, I know they accept pets but couldnt pass the opportunity to ask to get Sully the Superdog, lol. I really hope this darn Ophelia just stay away from land. Good luck.

Great. Now it's even worse.....hopefully it will change and hit north of Charleston...

...but THIS map from the national weather service is predicting a dead-on hit! :( Why, whyyyy????
