Need feedback on Roomba??? Hello everyone!!! I wanna ask if anyone heard of this vacuum cleaner robot called Roomba?? I saw it on YouTube and it seemed to be really cool to have one...:D I saw there are other brands besides Roomba too, but I liked this one better. Does anyone own one?? Is it worth the money?? Thanks in advance ;) |
I've never owned one, but I like the you tube videos where the cats and dogs are riding on top of it or chasing it. :) The entertainment value would be worth the price alone for me, he he. :p Then there's the bonus of it cleaning stuff. |
i sell them at sears along with tv's.. and we had one we used for fun around the store (i named him wall-e :) ). we loved it! it would go under all the dirty shelves and zoom over wires and not even get stuck. and when he was done cleaning the electronics department, he would go sit back down on his docking station. |
I almost got one, but hubby said that might need to be empty it often so we got the dyson instead:rolleyes: |
I have one I have a red Roomba. It works OK for sweeping up the rug or kitchen. But it doesn't suck up the dirt it sweeps it up. I can put it on the kitchen floor but I have to put the chairs up or it won't go under the table. It also doesn't get the corners of the room. I put it in the living room, family room and dining room on the rug and it sweeps the top of the carpet. But it gets stuck under my coffee table, shelves, etc. It won't go under the dining room table because the chairs are in the way. Also it went under my couch once and sucked up my lamp wire. Now it was stuck under there going beep, beep, beep until my husband got home and was able to get it. It is good for in between major vaccuuming, but you have to watch it. It is comical to watch the cat and dogs with it, Bad Kitty smacks it. Bella runs away and Luigi just looks at it "like what is that". |
I unfortunately would have to put a big thumbs down :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown on purchasing either a scoomba or roomba. I have two roomba's (1 for upstairs/1 for downstairs) and within a year they have both messed up on me. One just goes in a small circle then beeps and shuts off and the other one just beeps and goes to a recharge light. I have tried swapping batteries and that didn't work, have tried resetting both and that didn't help either. I also purchased the scoomba (floor washing machine) and after about 4 months it doesn't work either....it won't dispense the floor solution at all. I have tried to contact the company, but haven't gotten very far at all.... sooooooooooo in my opinion I wouldn't waste my hard earned $$$$$ on any of these... |
Don't waste your money on these |
Thanks everyone for replying... I think I'll tell my brother to not get me one, after all... It would be a nightmare if it malfunctions and I have to send it back to fix the problem... Thanks again! :) |
Bummer.... I was so excited to see this thread! I have a house full of tile and I hate to sweep! I vacume it all up with my Oreck, but that is a chore, so the Roomba sounded like a dream:( Back to the drawing board I guess.... |
I got a Roomba for christmas a couple years ago. It worked great the first 3 times we used it. After that it wouldn't even turn on. Since it was a gift, I couldn't return it because I didn't have the receipt. I would just get a dyson since I have heard great things about them. |
