Virgin Islands
 
I've searched through old threads and saw that quite a few members have traveled to the Virgin Islands. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay?

FI and me are trying to plan our honeymoon for over Thanksgiving. We want somewhere sunny and relaxing...but cheap enough to stay under our tiny little budget. :(

Any suggestions?

Ohhhh I'm jealous! I haven't been but I'm dying to do Tortola and St. John. Do y'all have a preference between US or British? It's probably a long shot but do y'all know how to sail? When we go to Tortola we will probably do it that way. You can lease beautiful, good sized sailboats there very reasonably and you're free to roam between islands and explore out of the way spots. You can also get one with a captain if you can't sail but of course that's more and I wouldn't like the lack of privacy.

If you're looking for reeeealy laid back and inexpensive Cinnamon Bay has 'eco tents' you can stay in. I've seen pictures and they are pretty decked out for tents- more like little cabins. It is gorgeous there too.

Sorry, no first hand experience but I will be anxiously waiting to drool over your pictures.:D

I wish we knew how to sail. That would be amazing!

I'm going to check out Cinnamon Bay, I haven't looked there yet.

I forgot to mention that it doesn't really matter if it's the US or British islands. I know we won't need passports for the US islands...not sure about the British though.

You would need it for BVI, you need to go to costumes once you arrive.We flown to Pto.Rico, and from there we went island hopping, it is beautiful and quite, perfect for a honey moon.

I grew up in Puerto Rico on a little island named Vieques,my whole family lived there. We would go to St Croix, St Thomas,( Guadalupe (french) Grandmother born on this island) You are going to have a blast. Make sure you find the boats that cruze the islands and have the Steel DRUM Bands Playing. I have not been back to Veiques in about 5 years but I have heard there are some amazing hotels now. The Beaches well I think they are the Prettiest in the world. Have Fun and Be Safe....

Do you know anything about Pavilions and Pools in St. Thomas? Pavilions and Pools - St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

I'd really love to hear any personal experience with Pavilions and Pools! Everything I've read seems amazing! It is a little pricey to fly out there though so it is definitely not some where I want to go until I've heard some more reviews. :rolleyes:

Hi, I live on St. John. I would recommend it over St. Thomas, but maybe I'm partial. :) St. John is small, laid back, and the beaches are beautiful. I have a friend that works at the Westin, and she said they have been giving really good discounts since it has been a slow season. St. John does not have a lot of hotels, but villa rentals are really popular. I also heard that they are offering deep discounts. I hope this helps, just let me know if you have any more questions.

Im like you, St Thomas full of turist. I like the smaller islands better. Im not sure about hotels we stay at my Grandmothers home....
