My cousin's boys have surgery today
 

A few months ago I posted a thread about my cousin's kids having the thyroid cancer gene, and that one of them has cancer. Well he was supposed to go in and have his removed last month, but his idiot father (her ex) exposed him to the flu, deliberately just to prove a point, and he got very sick and couldn't have his surgery. So he and his brother are both having theirs removed today, in a couple of hours. On top of my cousin being scared and nervous, she has to deal with her abusive, manipulative, compulsive liar for an ex-husband at the hospital. He was going to make sure he got sick 2 weeks ago too! This is what he does. He told her that he was going to pick up the boys for his visitation and just take them to lunch and return them because his other son has pneumonia (that kid is always sick). So she tells him since surgery is coming up, perhaps it would be best if he just not risk exposing them at all and just skip out on that visitation. He immediately blew up and says "So you're telling me I can't see MY OWN KIDS! You know what, you know what? (he says that all the time :rolleyes:) I just think I might bring them back to my place now and let them play with Levi after all (his sick son)". So the son with cancer is now sick again, and she is hoping that he can still have surgery since he is starting to get better. He has told these kids that he hates them, that he's going to kill them, and she called CPS and they did NOTHING. Their caseworker through friend of the court basically rolls her eyes at her because they are used to seeing vindictive ex wives that make stuff up. This man is sick and a control freak and he is going for one more day of visitation a week as well as 2 more weeks during the summer, when he has only ever taken them half of his allowed time in previous years! He is so mad that her child support was raised that he HAS to win something. He is addicted to gambling and sports and he cannot stand to lose at all. Thank God her new husband is awesome and takes good care of her and the kids and is a very well respected man, but she still has to deal with this crazy man, who seriously is mentally deranged, and now has to spend the whole day at the hospital with him. I cannot even being to touch on how many lies he tells in one day. He lies about what he had for lunch, who he talked to and seen, he will make up outrageous storys about things he seen while on the road, etc. He actually believes his own lies I think! He calls her weekly with some big thread that he is taking her to court for this or that, and tells her crazy things.
I just don't know how she can deal with that legally. She got an attorney, and I hope she's a good one. I think I would have commited a very violent crime against him if he were my kids' dad!

I'm just seeing this. My prayers are with your family and those two boys. I hope all went well and the surgeries took place and were successful.

How did I miss this post? I am so sorry no one responded to you during a time when you could have used the YT power! I too hope that all went well with the surgeries and the boys are healing fast!

As for the dipstick EX... you can't change stupid. Fortunately for this idiot, Karma is a *itch and hopefully he will get his! It amazes me anytime I hear of a parent using their children to get at the other adult in the situation.

I have had a thyroidectomy due to cancer.(21 years ago!) I hope the boys are doing well. I felt like I had whiplash after the surgery. Please post an update on them.
Karma happens! My sister was married to a horrible, controlling, manipulative guy that was also mentally abusive and then physically abusive. :mad: I'm sure we could exchange horror stories. After 19 years, she "escaped" and could finally divorced him. :rolleyes: They were divorced for about 2 years when he found out he had brain cancer. He died about 4 weeks after the diagnosis. He went blind and couldn't talk the last week of his life. Donna

I hope everything went well for both boys!! How awful to have to deal with an ex like that.
