We did it here...The Hubs and I just sat and talked... We haven't done that for awhile !!! It was very peaceful. The dogs curled up on my lap and slept. The hour went by too fast!! I think it is a wonderful idea !! :thumbup:

Well, early yesterday morning our electricity went off for about 4 hours so I figure I paid my dues then.:)

lol - yes, I would say you did! It is one thing to plan for it, it is another thing to have it happen to you. Isn't it amazing, how we take electricity & heat & ac for granted. We are truly each fortunate, that we don't lack these things on a daily basis

You are so right. Having gone through two hurricane and being without electricity for weeks really makes me appreciate it. I really can handle the heat better than the cold though. I don't know how folks up north can handle it.

I did it last year. It was actually neat cause it was an hour that hubby and I just sat and talked to each other. So it has more than just energy saving benefits! ;):D

Oh, yes - it was so fun to have my 2 yr old, just repaired furnace break a second time this winter. I driven home in a horrid winter snow storm (I was exhausted, and it took twice as long)- only to arrive home & it was 39 degrees in my house :eek:

Well, tell hubby it's tonight ;) or that yours is tonight since you missed it last night so that you can get some of those hmmm benefits! :D

LOL That is exactly why I would never make it up there. I hope you have a warm fire place. Yesterday morning it was in the 40ies here and we have new puppies so I made DH crank up the generator so the pups would not get cold. Luckily the electricity came back on at 7 a.m.
