Anyone good at identifying plants/flowers? |
I'm thinking marigolds, but I'm certainly no expert on flowers. Martha |
I think they are begonias |
They look like begonias to me too. |
Yup begonias and marigolds in the back... |
Thanks everyone! You guys are good. :) |
I am quite sure they are Ranunculus Buttercups. I just bought some the other day. Ranunculus Sale: Mixed Ranunculus's Buttercup bulbs Perhaps if I seen them closer I could tell for sure. |
Okay, enough guessing...:p Here are begonias- Park Seed: Begonia Non-Stop Hybrid Mix - An easy-to-grow tuberous Begonia Mix with double, semi-double, and crested blooms. And here are Ranunculus Buttercups-http://www.parkseed.com/gardening/PD/51640/ They're pretty similar looking. eta- hmmm, I don't know what's up with the link. Just c/p I guess. The buttercups are actually very pretty. |
The begonia and the ranunculus have somewhat similar blooms, but very different foliage. Begonias tend to have much broader, darker leaves, while the ranunculus has smaller and almost curly leaves. Here is a better pic of it: Photograph of a Ranunculus in Bloom You can tell in the picture in the OP that the foliage matches that of the ranunculus, plus the blooms are on longer stems, where begonias are closer to the base of the plant. Not trying to be argumentative, I am just an avid gardener. I could be wrong, there could be another kind of begonia that has different foliage that I haven't seen :) |
I think they look just like Ranunculus Buttercups! They are so amazing though. Thanks MindieRose and Nikki. You two make a great investigative gardening team! :) |
