Restless Leg Syndrome...? Anyone have this??? I think i might- but then i think i might not and what i'm feeling just might be an extension of whatever kind of joint problem i have... anyways- if you have it what does it feel like to you? How do you get it to go away... my legs were awful last night- i took an advil- not sure if it worked or if i just fell asleep and this morning I felt like i wanted to just take my legs off so i could stop the aching- so i went and took a warm shower which really seemed to help- however off and on today they have been achy- so i wasn't sure if RLS was something that just happeend at night>?? And i went on a long walk yesterday which i think is what caused the leg pain- so i was wondering if RLS is related to exercising at all? |
Hi, I have RLS. My legs usually just bother me at night. It's a miserable feeling but not exactly an ache. The feeling is hard to describe, but when you lay in bed, you just have to keep moving your legs, it feels all pins and needles and just a strong need to move your legs. Sometimes if I get up and stretch them--kind of like you stretch before running--it helps. It doesn't bother me every night, just now and then and I have no clue what brings it on :) Cathy |

I had this for a brief period of time when I was pregnant with my daughter. It didn't last but a few weeks but it was enough to know it really sucks to have to deal with. I feel for anybody that has to deal with this every day. Since it stopped for me I never really talked too much about it with my doctor. I was just happy it went away. Hi there, I have RLS and have been on meds for a few years now. My husband can always tell if I haven't taken my meds. for a couple of nights. I kick alot and have nerve pain that goes in to my feet. I also have rediculopathy, which is what your symptoms sound more like. My RLS only happens when I am in bed sleeping not when I am up and about. That is when I have the nerve pain. are you seeing a pain mgmt. doctor or just a regular MD? If just an MD you might want to consider seeing a Pain Management Specialist. They are usually anestheiologist<sp?> that have done into pain mgmt. I have full body/joint pain form several problems that I have and the pain Doc is actually my main one. he understands and knows how to treat the pain. think about it or just research it, you might be surprised what you find. Most all Ins. are accepted and covered. you might need something that I get regular witch are nerve blocks. they usually last 4-7 MONTHS>> I actually feel like a real human after I get them!! lol. I use the Requip for mine RLS also. For my radiculopathy pain I have to use a combination of meds. The RLS only happens to me at night..........my legs seems to want to jerk/move and feel kind of crawly inside, however the Requip helps. |
I have had RLS as long as I can remember. Meds like tylenol or other otcs didn't affect it whenever I would get it, it really affected my sleep for a long time. For me a hot bath or hot shower relaxes my legs enough to where I can relax and fall asleep. I have found that eating bananas (for the potassium) has helped reduce having it. Also stress seems to trigger it in me, everyone is different. Just know that you are not alone. |
I have RLS too. I've found that a calcium, magnesium, and zinc supplement every day helps me. I usually don't have any problems but once in a while it flares up and I just go and take a supplement. Within 20 minutes my legs relax and I'm fine. I just get my supplement at Walmart and it's just one pill. You might want to try it. |

I don't know what I have but I know my legs get restless. It only happens every now and then and it happens more when I get really tired. I just feel the need to move them constantly. It's like if I roll my ankles and stretch them, it feels really really good then as soon as I stop they feel restless again. I get all fidgety and everything, it's very aggravating. |
Gosh Marci that really sucks. It doesn't sound like RLS, like others have said. I definitely know NOTHING about human health care, so I really have nothing to offer other than I hope you feel better fast! What about lupus? I had a friend growing up who had it and always ached everywhere. I guess it was pretty bad. |
What about fibre myalgia? |
