PLEASE help with a stupid bird There is a robin outside my back window trying to get IN The window- however- the blinds are down so it's not like it can see inside. Anyways- i went into the backyard and scared it away and it went. But now it's back and the noise of it hitting the window has Layla hiding and shaking like a fool. Any suggestions on how to get RID of this bird? |
Hmmm good question. Have you tried putting a bird feeder in your yard. Maybe that would distract the bird from coming to the window. |

I drew on some paper and taped it to the window... so i hope that will work- poor Layla is just beside herself. |
Do you have a pinwheel? or maybe even cut some aluminum foil strips and tie them together like one....something that makes noise..and put it outside the window. The movement should distract the bird. Worth a shot  |

ok i got the screen off the window and fashioned a tin foil type noise thing.. lol... we'll see! my neighbours to the back of me are going to think i went off the deep end! |
Oh my, I bet she is seeing her reflection in the window and it is mating season! |

Well she thought she had found the perfect mate. Listening to everything she said and no arguing! :D |
My sister had a robin a couple years ago that did that all summer long and into the fall. It drove her crazy and her window looked like crap! I'm going to remember the tin foil solution in case it happens again! |
Just leave the bird alone, in due time he she will get bored and move on:D |

Robins don't eat from bird feeder, they like worms and berries. If it comes back maybe you could throw some berries Far away from the window. |

So happy it's gone now:D |
Colored tape (like electrical or masking tape) on the outside of the window would probably help. It takes away the reflection and works well when they fly into windows as well. |

I was at a restaurant one time and watched a robin dooing the same thing. She was hitting the window low enough so I went outside to see what she was seeing. The sun was shining so brightly that all I could see was the reflection of the tree near the window with a nest in it. I think she was trying to get to her nest. Poor thing was still trying when we left. |
Funny story about birds. Last spring our neighbor guy came to our door. He never came over, so I was worried there was something wrong. I seen my husband step outside with him and he was showing him pictures on his phone, and he was very serious. Turned out he thought someone was messing with them. He said that there was blood on their car mirrors and when they would wash them, there would be more blood on them the next day. He then looked at our cars, and sure enough, there was blood and little scratches on the mirrors! Well he was really freaking out because this had apparently gone on all week and he was creeped out that someone would do this! So he called the police to come out and take a report from all of us. The cop took one look and treated us like we were stupid. He just said "It's from a bird" and left. Sure enough, the next day we noticed that birds were hanging out on our mirrors eating bugs and worms everyday, because it was still very cold out and our black mirrors were nice and warm in the sun. Its amazing the mess they leave behind though! I do love bird watching, I just don't love them leaving nasty stuff on my car! |
