OMG.....We have Wii Woes.... Remember that little warning about the wrist band....well hubby launched the remote right into our new 46 inch flat screen and totally destroyed it. I was so pissed I can't even remember if he won the game with his great aim!!!! Just had to vent, now I need to go look for a new TV. Later.... |
Oh man! So, I take it he "wasn't" wearing the wrist band?!? Oh my! At least he did it and not you, right?!? Ugh. So sorry. I would be upset and we don't even have a newer t.v. |
ouch. Sorry! I would say he forfieted. |
Yeah....he's not off the hook yet!!! Today was his last day of work after 39 years as a firefighter. I thought maybe I should wait until after his retirement comes in before I kill him. And...no he was not wearing the wrist band but will have to from now on. I think I'll have to keep a close eye on him. Grrrrrrrrrr........ |
I feel your pain, my 6 year old son just throw a marble at our new plasma tv last month because his brother changed the channel and put a huge crack in it! grrrr.... Brand new tv ruined. :( |
Yeah, those remotes can be dangerous! My son always wears the wristband now. He was really getting into a spiderman game and flung the remote at my head. I had a bruise for 3 days! Sorry about your tv getting ruined. :( |

Oh my! I thought that only happened in the funny commercial! But I can see how it would be really easy to do. So sorry for your loss (of the tv - hopefully not the hubby ;) ) |
I think it happens more often than any of us know about. My sil's brother did the same thing to a friend's flat screen..............wasn't wearing the strap. When I have guests over, I insist they wear it or no play my game!!!!!!! I get annoyed sometimes how they remind you with every game to put the strap on............but now we know why they do!!!!!! Sorry about your TV.......that has to be a real bummer!!! |
man, that sucks.. and I agree with the rest of you, wearing that wrist band is a MUST!! My kids arent allowed to play the game unless they have the band on. Even with the band on we have had plenty of "wacks" in this house that have left bruises and marks on all parts of my kids bodies, my 11 year old accidently wacked my 7 year old in the jaw while playing the baseball game and I heard the smack all the way from the other room. Thank goondness she didnt break anything, but it left a heck of a mark.. from now on when the WII is on everyone stays sitting while in the living room and only gets up between games. |

I must admit though that I don't wear it when I play Mario kart as it is harder to flip when you make jumps to get the power surge. :p |
Omgosh, that sucks! I'm sure he feels bad though. Did it crack the screen or make a whole? I remember when they first came out and there was site that had photos of damage caused by Wii playing and there were some photos of the remotes completely wedged in the screens of tvs! |
