Anyone else a transplanted Canadian? 3 Attachment(s) Just wondering how many people have moved from Canada to another country! I'm a very proud Canadian, but I find myself living (and pursuing a greencard) in the US -- all due to love. I married an American here in September but we've been together for almost 3 years. Prior to our recent vows I had been travelling back and forth from Canada to the US for 2.5 years out of the 3. We just weren't ready to marry yet, so I went back and forth until the time was right. We've adopted a couple kitties, Salem and Sweetpea, and Hiro (most recently) over the last few years. My mom lives in back home in Alberta and I miss her terribly. :( I talk to her almost everyday, even if it's just for a minute. I set her up with a computer and some video conference software before I left! She is addicted to a Massively multiplayer online role-playing game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia thanks to me, and so we spend some quality time playing on that from time to time as well! She actually logs more hours than I do I think! (This game is actually where I met my husband 3 years ago as well!) I've plans to eventually move back home to Canada with my new family, but for now I just take care of the house, watch TV, tend to the pets, do a little hobby sewing, crafting and tend to the space that will soon be my garden. Can't work, and it's driving me crazy!! lol He's an officer with the State Police and so I take over all the housework and home matters so he's as stress free as possible! :D So... what about y'all? (Salem is the white and grey kitty, Sweetpea is the tabby and Hiro is the little stinker standing on the carrier) |
Anyone? :) |
They are all so cute (I love cats and have 3 myself) Glad you found us at YT to talk to also. I have never been to Alberta but I have been to Montreal and just loved that city. |
Thanks! I never liked cats, but when I met my husband he convinced me to adopt little Salem. I'm glad we did! Alberta is a beautiful province! If you find yourself in that part of the world, do yourself a favour and spend a few days in Banff. Banff, Alberta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's a HUGE tourist trap, but it's worth it!! I've never been out and about in Montreal. I stopped in the airport once, but that's about it. I once planned a trip across Canada and up in the territories, by bus, staying at hostels throughout... I regret now that I didn't do that when I had the chance. More on your side of the continent, I'd recommend a trip to Nova Scotia as well! I went there for a couple weeks when I was younger, and it's really an amazing place. The people there (and all along the east coast) are definitely among the nicest Canadians there are. ^_^ Thanks for the reply! |
Thanks for the info :) I go to the 1000 islands every summer so very close to Canada, but just loved old Montreal, been 2 times and would love to go again!! |
Haha! No problem! I'll talk about Canada to anyone who will listen! lol |
