street dogs i recently took a trip to trinidad and tobago. and so many things t hat shocked me. one street there were the poorest of the poors that live in tin houses, then on the other side you have the richestest of the rich that live in beautiful houses. but, one thing that shocked me and made me super sad were the amount of street dogs i saw!!!! they were everywhere! beaches, streets, just everywhere!!!! I've never seen a street dog in my life. i'm sure i've seen street cats but i've never noticed how sad these street dogs looked. every time i passed by a dog, whether a street dog or owned i couldn't look at them... here is a picture of a street dog i saw at the beach. it looks sooo sad :( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...y/IMG_5438.jpg i hope soon, that all dogs in the world will have a great owner who loves them very much and they live happily ever after <3 |
This is such a heartbreaking issue, and is very common in many areas. I know Puerto Rico has a terribly heartbreaking population of loose dogs...but it is all over. I'm trying to remember the name of a certain charity who works specifically to deal with/educate/spay-neuter etc. street dogs - I will see if I can find the info. It is very, very sad about these dogs. :( |
We have a lot of street dogs back home...my family tries to put food and water out for them every day. We always cook more rice and meat and vege and bring them to the dogs and also provide water for them. When I was still living there, I used to go buy packets of food for them. It is very sad but we couldn't take all of them. We did take in one stray dog and work with him and he was our pet till he passed on. He was very special and I am glad he chose to stay with us. We do work with volunteer groups too capture them and send them to low-cost s/n clinic to spay and neuter them and then put a special tag on them and then put them back to where they come from. The tags are for the animal control to recognize them and just let them be because they are already spayed and neutered and they rely on good people for food and water. It is very sad really but things are getting better with more of them being spayed and neutered. |

that is good and at least they are doing something, but its still so sad that because i am pretty sure there are so many countries out there that doesn't do anything about these poor stray animals... |
wow! that dog looks better fed than most at the shelters I have been to.I love all animals but I think my saddest part would have been the people. |
Aww those [poor things. I hope that one day in the future there will be no more street dogs/cats and only pets with loving homes and families - god bless xXx |
