Good luck today - you can do it again!! And after awhile, you won't miss them :) Glad you didn't have any headaches. - But remember if you get them, they are only temporary. |
I don't mind you answering for me, lol!! That was very positive:p I just want you to know I appreciate your support! |
Well, yesterday I had only 2 large diet pepsi's. Yesterday when I got home from work I drank grape juice. Hopefully I can cut back even more. |

Betsi & Ashley - how is everything going for you? Have you been able to keep your soda cut back? I am almost at one month - my last soda was Friday Feb. 20th :cheer: I feel so good, but sometimes have to work to drink enought water & flouid in the evening when I was used to having my diet coke |
Thanks for asking! I'm doing pretty good..still about 3 a day. We have been out of town for a few days, and I still did fine! You know, there is a case of cold diet cokes in my fridge at all times, and my dear hubby put a case in the trunk when we went to see our kids this weekend. He is just in the habit of making sure that I have my diet coke, only now that he's retired, he drinks more than i do:eek: I'm really not struggling with this as much as I thought I would. I'm happy to be down to 3..and yesterday I just had 2:D You gave me good advice about not going cold turkey..this is much better;) |

No, it doesn't inspire him at all, lol! He doesn't see any need to cut back because it's "just diet coke"!! Of course if he saw the need, then he would have to do it too:rolleyes: |
I had to come dig up my own thread  I was thinking I had given up soda in March - but was happy to see NO - It's Actually been 7 MONTHS!!! Hooray for me! ;) How about everyone else who was trying to give it or cut back? How are you all doing? There has only been like one time I was tempted - I was at an event that didn't have bottled water - only soda and alcohol. I survived  |

I just knew you could do it...I don't miss it at all any more. |
Congratulations.....Did you know,Many general dietary factors have been suggested as a cause of osteoporosis, including: low calcium-high phosphorus intake, high-protein diet, high-acid-ash diet, high salt intake, and trace mineral deficiencies. It appears that increased soft drink consumption is a major factor that contributes to osteoporosis. A deficiency of vitamin K leads to impaired mineralization of bone. Boron deficiency may contribute greatly to osteoporosis as well as to menopausal symptoms." I found this interesting. |
Phosphoros in sodas deplete calcium and can cause osteoporosis. I don't drink them anymore. I do have osteoporosis. I used to drinkl a lot od coke. I can't get Boneva or meds til next yr on Medicare. |
Even If diet drinks were ok and not a phorphorus the diet part is BAD for you. I think splenda is less bad for a person. Phenyl bla bla turns to formaldahide. My friend said then she would already be preserved when she dies. Not funny really. I love grape juice but straight. not diluted causes bathroom visits and could be an embarrassment. I drin cran grape from costco. Paul Newman. Yum not bad for Wwight watcher points. |
