I need help, please! I'm doing a school project on boarding kennels. Basically, I make up my own. But I need to know information about them first... Things like: -Daily prices. Does it depend on size? -Are they in their own cage, or with others? -Are they exercised? If so, how often and for how long? Does this cost extra? -Do they need to be vaccinated? -Do you bring food, or is it provided? -Are you allowed to bring personal belongings for them? -Anything else you can think of. I'm trying to get information on other businesses to make "mine" reasonably priced, etc... I would like to know about kennels around the world (or at least country )! :) If you could please tell me the kennel name, where it is, website (if any), and the answers to those questions, it would be greatly appreciated. :) :thumbup:Thank you in advanced!! :D:D |
-Daily prices. Does it depend on size? $25 a night (rate goes down for multiple days). It does not depend on size. -Are they in their own cage, or with others? Each dog is kenneled separately. -Are they exercised? Yes, if the dogs get along well in the play group, they are out of their kennels 2-3 times a day for 4-6 hours total. -Do they need to be vaccinated? Yes, rabies, bordatella, distemper and parvo. -Do you bring food, or is it provided? Either way. If you don't bring food, they charge you a dollar a feeding. -Are you allowed to bring personal belongings for them? Yes. Toys, etc. -Anything else you can think of. The place they are kenneled is sort of a draft warehouse area. It's fine for bigger dogs, but I wouldn't kennel my Yorkies there. If you could please tell me the kennel name, where it is, website (if any), and the answers to those questions, it would be greatly appreciated. :) The Dog Wash Resort, Anchorage, Alaska. I can't find a Web site for them. |

-Daily prices. Does it depend on size? $20 per night for one dog, $35 per night for 2 dogs (that can board together), $45 per night for 3 dogs (that can board together); for dogs that come in together and cannot be boarded together, regular $20 rate per night, per dog. No extra for size. -Are they in their own cage, or with others? Not in a cage with other strange dogs, but if the owner has multiple and requests that they board together, then yes. -Are they exercised? If so, how often and for how long? Does this cost extra? Some kennels I know of, take the dogs out and play/walk with them (individually or dogs that live together) twice a day and it's included in the price, but the owner can request and extra session for an extra fee of about $10 or so per day. -Do they need to be vaccinated? They should at least have rabies and kennel cough -Do you bring food, or is it provided? Owner brings food -Are you allowed to bring personal belongings for them? Yes -Anything else you can think of. Kennels should be attached to an outside run so that the employee can open the door and let the dogs out to potty. For aggressive dogs or dogs with special needs, there should be a sign on the kennel door as a warning. |

Does anyone else have info on kennels near where they live, or ideas on what "my kennel" should be like? |
-Daily prices. Does it depend on size? $18 a day for any size dog. Cats can be boarded here too but I'm not sure of the cost for them. -Are they in their own cage, or with others? Each dog stays in their own seperate pen, but multiple dogs can be kept together if you request (ex: A.J and KaCee get to stay together) -Are they exercised? If so, how often and for how long? Does this cost extra? They are taken out for potty breaks every 3 hours and then get to play outside 4 times throughout the day. This is included in the cost. -Do they need to be vaccinated? Yes, DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella -Do you bring food, or is it provided? Purina dog chow is provided but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own -Are you allowed to bring personal belongings for them? Yes, they ask that you bring bedding and toys so they feel more at home. They also allow you to bring treats which are given during exercise time. -Anything else you can think of. There are two other kennels in town but I have chosen this one to because of the care they provide. Every time we go there, all the staff is very friendly and they remember A.J and KaCee's names. The majority of the dogs kenneled here are typically larger dogs. They often will let A.J and KaCee play in the office with the owner's pug. They also offer grooming services while the pet is being kenneled for an additional charge. The name of it is The Wildcat Pet Resort in Manhattan, Kansas. Here's the website: Wildcat Pet Resort |
