Suspicious E-Mail Hi guys just to let you all know that this morning I received a e-mail from "yorkie talk" saying that they were missing me and wanted me back. I came on here first to double check that i was still a member and obviously am. I thought I would post a thread just in case someone else got one and panicked and clicked on the link in the e-mail. I also received one from paypal the other day saying that my bank had contacted them regarding some problems. I called paypal and my bank and they confirmed that this wasn't the case. Everyone be careful and don't panic, check with the companies first :wavey: |
That seems to be an automated email that gets sent out whenever you haven't logged on or posted on YT for maybe a month or so straight. It's nothing to be concerned about. I ignore them like I do spam / ads / other subscriptions. LOL. |
Oh ok, I was just worried because I log on everyday and it was in my junk. The paypal one was quite worring tho,lol :) |

yes make sure you don't respond to emails like the paypal one like you said. I got an email from Bank Of America saying something about someone was using my account and they wanted information. I used to have an account with them years ago, but closed it. so i called the company and they told me that was fraud. he asked me to email that to them and they would pursue it. and then he said you didn't give out any information did you? and i said no......he said that was good so don't respond to them is the best like he said earlier contact the company. |
I agree, never answer an email through the link from the email. I got an email from my mortgage company and called the phone # in the email and it all sounded very legit when I was on hold and when they started asking me for information, I said to them that since they'd contacted me, they should have all of that. Well, she gave me a song and dance about if I felt more comfortable, I should go to a branch and discuss my account. Well, I hung up with her and called the phone # on my mortgage papers and was told it was a bogus email. Unfortunately, they do have my mortgage account # so I had to put some security parameters on it to keep just anyone from accessing it. |
