Annoyed
 

I'm about fed up with my doctor. My doctor is about an hour away from my house is was chosen when I still lived with my parents and its only 30 mintues from where they live and I liked the doctor and my grandma argeed to drive me down for doctors apointments and such. Well my grandma took me in monday because I was just starting getting sick so I wasent at the worst part of it yet but we thought we will get antibiotics and knock this out before it gets bad, well boy were we wrong. We went in and the doctor I normaly see wasnt there and they didnt tell us that so I had to see the other doctor that Im not found of and she didnt know me. Well I told her my problems and she barley looked at my throat and ears and then listened to my chest. She told me it was viral and my astma acting up and gave me a higher dose of advair and told me to use my albuteral every 4 hours and did a strep throat test well we have called EVERY day sense monday asking if they have the results back and they keep telling my grandma they arnt back yet but my dad called wendsday and they told him they where on the doctors desk, I'm really sick and they keep telling us well they wont look at me again or give me anything until they know if I have strep or not. Now my gum in my mouth behind my last tooth is swollen and there is two puss blisters and it hurts terrably but I cant go to the dintest until I know if I have strep or not and I can barley eat because it hurts so bad (Im guessing right now it might be an impacted wisdom tooth) and we have explain this to the doctors office and they still have yet to get or at least tell us the results. I'm hoping the results are that I dont have it because if these results are sitting on the doctors desk and it says I do have strep throat and they are not letting us know or giving me some antibiotics its like they are just being mean. Not to mention my ear is killing me and she said it looked fine just a little red and I have had a temp over 100 sense tuesday. I am so annoyed and mad. My grandma is thinking of taking me to a new walk in clinic about 5 minutes from us and having them take a look at me. What would yall do?

Sorry that you are having such a rough time of it. Sounds as if you need antibiotics for a couple other things than strep throat.....infected tooth and earache. I'd be tempted to go to the emergency clinic just for those two things. Hope you feel better soon.

You could go to the doctors office and tell them you want your results right now. I don't know this sounds really wierd. You sound really sick. If your ear hurts and you have a fever for 2 days I would think that you need antibiotics. Go to his office and sit and wait until you get your results!! If it's not strep it could be an ear infection. You need to go back and get results. Don't let them bully you. They really don't care once they hang up the phone but if you are there you will get answers.

I would go to the walk in clinic. Sometimes viruses can hang around for this long, and antibiotics won't help if it is a virus. But the tooth sounds like it needs attention. I'd be very insistent with the doctors office with the strep test. I'd either insist that I will stay on the phone till I get the results and if that does't work, I'd just go down there and wait till they give them to me. Ask to speak to the nurse - tell her you can't go to the dentist for tooth treatment till you have the strep test and that you need it NOW
