GAS, I dont even want to hear that word right now..
It is going to eat me alive because I live 20mins away from where I work.
So I have a farely long drive every morning.. I will have to take out a loan just to keep gas in my car.

I live in the country, 20 minutes away from work, school, church and grocery stores. I am definitely going to have to change my driving habits and consolidate my trips. I normally go back & forth to town 4 times per day, but I can't afford to do that at these gas prices.

We live in a pretty big area. Any place I have to go it's maybe 10 miles round trip. But I'm still going to consolidate my trips as well. The only place I'm planning on going today is to get my son at school. He is suppose to be back on the bus by Tuesday. Thank goodness.

On the news last night they showed a station in Atlanta that had gas for $5.87!

I absolutely agree. I think that the government should realize that by charging so much tax to "help" the economy, they're going to hurt it. It may not be a huge or sudden decrease in spending, but it's going to happen. I never heard that the taxes were that high, but I believe it. This whole topic really makes my blood boil. Like someone else mentioned in another thread- the rulers in the countries from which we get this gas are feeling no financial pinch at all. They continue to get more and more rich while we face this financial burden. :mad:

I didn't check gas prices yesterday, but I noticed today it was $3.099. I still wonder if they aren't intentionally pushing gas prices up until they are equitable to Europe's. Jerks!!!! :mad:

i am soooo mad at the stupid gas thing!!!!!!! we went to the bahamas last year, now because of the gas the plane tickets have gone p, so now we might not be able to go this year!!!! :mad: i don't drive yet, so i'm wondering, why the sudden change in gas prices?

Corporations rule! Oil companies are multinational corporations! Multinationals have no regard for people. Just the almighty dollar and filling up the CEO's pockets! Then, of course, the other side says well, you haven't built a refinery since 1976. Well, duh! Who is it that builds refineries? The oil companies, of course! So, if they don't build the refineries, I suppose it is because they know it will continue to push the prices higher and higher and fill up their pockets. Makes sense to me. :D Of course, I'm beginning to think I have a twisted mind. :confused:

"i'm begining to think i have a twisted mind." lol!!!!!! so its not like they're running out of oil? i thought thats what was happening, my bad, lol. my parents have this thing, where they never let it get more than half empty, so that it doesn't cost as much, sounds like a good idea to me!

It's sad, Megan, that when you become a driving teenager that you will never know the joy of pulling into a gas station and telling the attendant you want 50 cents worth of gas! :D

Even though we all are paying high prices... Be thankful as many of us can only get less than 6 gals at a time here in the south :eek: due to a shortage and we are still paying what you all are 3.09. We are all fearing that if the gas shortage continues down here we will be out of jobs !!!! In our area it is the logging industry so there is heavy machinery used. They run on diesel but we will need transportation in and out of the woods and to the mills to process the trees. This work should continue so we can start rebuilding. No lumber, no new homes..... :( So send us some of your gas !!!! :D
