Introduction Hello, I am new to YT because I was blessed last night with the gift of a precious 12 week old Yorkie. Her name is Jorja. She is black and gold and full of playful spunk. I have wanted to have a Yorkie ever since my daughter's fiance gave her one for her birthday in August. Since she is in college, I have been puppysitting my grandpup ;). Well the two lovebirds are getting married and will be taking my grandpup with them. I will miss the little guy and was getting a tad concerned about what I would do without the little whippersnapper. He is my buddy ya know? Anyway, I began the search for one to call my own and had located one just this past week. I was in the process of making payment arrangements and pick up details. Last night after taking an injured friend a family meal I came home to a lovely birthday card with a collar and nametag in the card...and my daughter walks out of my bedroom with a bundle of precious Yorkie fur...and gave me Jorja. (I had her name chosen months ago!) She is everything I thought she would be--the look in her eyes just melts my heart. And, you wanna know something very odd? I have NEVER EVER EVER liked dogs. At all. Period. Never. These little Yorkies just have a way about them don't they? Anyway, I found this forum when searching for a Yorkie...and now I'm back as a happy companion to one of God's most beautiful animals. |

Awe!!! You just brought a tear to my eyes! What a wonderful daughter you have!!! Welcome to you and Jorga!!! Your story sounds familiar to me! Although I am very fond of dogs, yorkies in particular, my husband is not. Hubby is a mailman. Everyday, he hears dogs bark, bark, bark, bark. He believed that "no animal should be in the house". He was very adamant about dogs. After 11 years - I finally wore him down and he agreed that I could get a puppy - in indoor puppy. I have to admit that I was worried about the two of them bonding. Hubby went with me to pick out Bailey. Bailey immediately snuggled with him and he immeditely melted. All is good here. Welcome TY - glad to have ya!! |

Thank you all so much! What a warm welcome! I am sure I will have lots of questions. My family cannot believe the change that has come over me about dogs. :yelrotflmWell, not really ALL dogs but at least Yorkies. ;) I'm sure I'll learn a lot and make a few friends too. Be blessed. |
P.S. I'll try to get pictures up soon. Both Jorja and Jett (my daughter's puppy) are just so cute and loveable. ...but I might be a bit biased.;) |
