Anyone read Historical Romance Novels? I am a constant reader of Historical Romance novels... but lately I have been stumped to find any new series etc. Just thought maybe someone on here reads them as well and might have some good suggestions of another author that has started a new series or has just wrote a great book in that genre?? This weekend I went to Borders and bought two books... two that I already had on my bookshelf and forgot that I had... it has been over a year since I had read them so I just read them again... but I am hoping to read something new. Some of my favorites are, Brenda Joyce, Sabrina Jefferies, Julia London, Christina Dodd... the list just keeps going. :p |
That's what I read but don't buy them. I go to the library and take ten every two weeks. The old ones set in the 13 and 14 hundreds are the ones I like best. At my library we don't even have to check the soft covers out. Just tell the librarian how many we are taking or bringing back. i am a verocious reader so i could never afford to buy them. I can read a whole book in one evening if I am not involved in something else. |
I believe I must fall into the catergory of a verocious reader as well... a book a night and I usually even start my second just so I can have an idea of what will come the next day... My husband believes I have an obsession... but I am not big on tv at all and he is so while he is watching a few shows I snuggle up and zip through a book... I have gone to our local library but I have read or have most of what they have... its weird really but I love having my own collection :D I have a book closet of my own as we dont have room for a book shelf... I was recently married so before that for years that was really like my night out.. reading. Bookworm to a fault really!! LOL ...lately I feel like I read faster then authors write and I wish there were more authors to write to catch up with me... :p Quote:

I love them! I get them at half price books |
I haven't found any great book stores around here with great sales. I do go to Target often as they sell new release soft covers for 25% off which is so much better than borders... Who is your favorite author?? Quote:

I too am a verocious reader. My favorite books are Historical Romance too, I am also a fast reader so I go through them fast! Have you read any Claudia Dain books? I really love her Courtesan Chronicles. She has a web site CLAUDIA DAIN | BOOKSHELF that list the books she has written. I am waiting to get my copy of The Courtesans Wager as soon as it's in the bookstore. |
I dont believe I have but her regency series looks good... I will have to check her titles out... I am going to the bookstore this evening. (My husband is working 3pm to 11pm ) so I will have time for a book. :) I just found this website... figured I would share: Regency Romance Novels : Online historical romances : free online historical romance stories Quote:

Diana Gabaldon, Outlander series. I fell in love with all of her characters (especially Jamie). Amazing!! :) Grad school and Zoe have prevented me from being able to read for fun but hopefully one day soon I will be able to again! |
Did you read The Other Boleyn Girl? The Author is Philippa Gregory. She has a bunch of books out, I think I read 3 of them. I enjoyed them all. |

Or it used to be years ago when I was looking up one of my favourites and realised how much less I could have paid for them if I didn't buy them new. I do, however, love the smell of new print. I even went out and bought copies I've already read from the library but just had to show my support for the authors I liked. :) |

I am not a big reader, the last book series I read was Twilight and that was after maybe 8 years of NOT reading. I wish I was a reader I love books, I just don't like to sit and read.. I LOVED TWILIGHT THOUGH |
