What Carpet Steamer Do You Recommend?
 
I need your input on a carpet steamer. We plan to buy a new one soon and would love to know which one(s) you have had success with and also if you have used any that you would not recommend.

I'd recommend a Bissell Proheat. They have several different models depending on how much you want to spend.

Rug Doctor works well. We have only rented them but I know they sell them too. I've seen them for sale in stores but haven't really paid much attention to the prices. They do a great job and are very easy to use without a hugh strain on your back.

I like the Bissel Proheat as well, very quiet and very easy to use.

Bissell Pro Heat. And for potty/puke accidents in between cleanings - the Spotbot!

I have the Bissell ProHeat 2x Pet and People and I really like it. It does great on getting dirt out but what I like best it the "water rinse" feature. If the cat throws up/has a hairball or the kids drop supper, then I take an enzymatic cleaner (I like Kids N Pets) and let that soak. Then I use my Bissell with the water rinse feature and clean/suck the mess up. No smells and no stains!

We have the pro-heat & DH does all of the carpet cleaning here at home, at the church and at the mission where he works.
He said that he has discovered the real trick to cleaning the carpet is to use a minimum amount of soap and to rinse, rinse and sometimes rinse again. When he's finished here the carpet usually dries within an hour or 2. We clean the carpet once or twice a year. (most "stains" are from me using too much resolve and not getting it all up with the "green machine". Any cleaner left on the rug attracts soil that become the "stains")

Most people don't know this, but it's true, cleaners left in the carpets attract dirt. Just like with your Yorkie, rinse, rinse, rinse.

Yep, Yep, Yep!! I've learned the hard way. I originally thought the more soap, the better, right? WRONG!! Leaving soap residue only attracts more dirt! I make one pass with minimum soap, and rinse twice!!
