Someone stole my pictures from my business! While searching for products today, my business partner found that a chinese company has stolen all of our pictures from our website, erased our names, and is advertising with our pictures! They are pictures of MY CHILDREN!! What can I do? |
That is awful. I hope you figure things out and someone on YT can help you. |
oh my!!! im so sorry,, i will bump this thread up for you |
sorry but i am not sure what you can do? but going forward, is it possible to put your logo or something on your pictures, that way they can't take it and use it without showing that it is stolen? i think that's why on some websites, you will see their website addy across the pictures...i know it doesn't look as good once you put stuff like that over the picture. i hope someone on here will know what you can do about it. but i don't think you can enforce laws over other countries? unless they also have stringent laws there as well... |
 What!? Your children!? That is just wrong, wrong WRONG. I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you to do, but I would be furious too! :thumbdown |
Copyright Viloation Sounds to me like a standard copyright violation. Assuming you have proof that they're your pictures, then you should contact a lawyer. Since copyright violations aren't necessarily a criminal act, the police can't help you. Instead, contact a lawyer and explain the situation: basically a competitor is using your copyrighted material against you. Then the lawyer will have to file an injunction against the company. In theory, the offenders will just be forced to remove the offending artwork - but there's a possibility that it'll go to court. I doubt you'd see any money from suing them, but they'll probably not want to bother with it and just remove the photos. Sadly, lawyers aren't cheap. :( |
All of our pictures have our name on them. You can see on the pics that our name is smudged out and they wrote their name over it. They took 16 of our pics. They are all on this page and the next one after it...Children Garment & Accesorries direct from China You can see them on our site how they were before they were stolen Divine TuTus, Custom Tutus and Tutu Dresses For Your Princess |
I would do as crazydog said and contact a lawyer. I would also contact the website and let them know if they do not remove the pictures you will pursue legal action as they are both your pictures and your children. That may be enough for them to take them down, they probably just assumed you would never see. |

I have proof alright, I could just bring my kids to court with me since its them in all the pics, lol. |
I'd contact them, send them a cease and desist letter, then if no action is taken - you need to decide if you want to take it to the next level. example letter. Contracts for every occasion: Cease and desist letter (Copyright infringement) |

nice picture! hey, those are really cute pictures!!! no wonder they want to steal it! :p I think you just contact them and ask them to remove the pictures. or you can ask them to pay for the pictures if they love it so much(if you want to do that?)...since it sounds like it's going to be so much trouble to sue them, and maybe cost lots of $$$ possibly? what you think? but i am sorry that they stole it, i would be VERY mad if they stole my pictures like that! |
YIKES!!!! That is so scary! I would DEFINITELY contact a lawyer and make them take the pictures down immediately! |
I own all the rights to the pics, as I took all of them, and the one that they stole that I didn't take, my business partner did. Thanks for the compliments on the pics...:D I am pretty close with an attorney, plus my sister is a high up paralegal at a large law firm, so it wouldnt be much for me to persue it. |
